I have watched and followed many tutorials, but this one is by far the most informative, easy to follow and my absolute favourite, the extra measurements make it look so much easier and better. I make wedding, bridesmaid and prom gowns and I have just started to learn to draft my own patterns, I will definitely be trying out your method using those extra measurements. Thank you so much 🙏🙏

Much love from Ghana and a new subscriber. Pls I noticed the back bodice is shorter than the front which I know off. My question is how do u join the back to the front bodice with that much different? How are the two waistline going to meet? Will you join front bodice and skirt and that of the back separately before shaping and bring them together? Also, How do you calculate for strap to strap measurement? Am confused Ma.

First of all let me warmly welcome you here. Thanks sooo much for subscribing 🥰 Back to the question. When you close the bust dart, the back and front will become equal Then for the strap to strap you measure from the beginning of one armhole to the other across your chest area.

Very detailed, am confuse at the understand you didn't replace the underbust dart taken, thereby reducing the underbust circumference.. Secondly when joining the front and will yiu still take the underbust measurement when shaping?

The under bust dart wasn't replaced because that's the essence of tightening it to give that fitted bustier effect If it was measured firmly on the body, yes there'll be a need for that. So while taking the under bust circumference measurement on your client's body, it should be measured very firmly.

Thank you for the tutorial. I noticed you did not returned the dart you took on the overbust. You only measured your strap-to-strap. My question is, the two inches you used for the overbust tightening won't there be a shortage, when joining to the yoke ?
