I really love your videos, I am short and chubby and have a lot of trouble finding any clothes that fit properly. Finally a good instructor to follow. I grew up sewing but your videos are so helpful. Learning new ways to do old things. So much better than a commercial pattern that never fits correctly. Thanks so much.

Thank you so much for, yet again, another brilliantly described tutorial. I have learnt a great deal from watching your videos. I've not done much dressmaking in the last 15 years or so, and I have now found I have lost my confidence. Your videos are easy to follow, educational and inspiring. I am slowly beginning to refresh and restore my previously learnt sewing skills - all with the help of your tutorials! Thank you again. Sending you warm blessings from England, United Kingdom. 🇬🇧

Thank you for this video! I've just started on a pair of knit pants to which I wanted to add pockets. I've made pants with pockets before so I had an idea of how to assemble it but I never needed to draft any myself. This video made the process sooooo much easier so THANK YOU!

Toni, hello there! My pleasure, it makes me happy when people use these tutorials and make beautiful and useful things. I rarely share my full journey to this as I think people will find it boring, but if you'd like I can share it in one of the videos in 2022 :) let me know what exactly you would like to hear :)

@@ThoughtfulCreativity Thanks A! Yes, I'd love to hear your journey and especially how you learnt. 20 years ago I bought a "pattern ruler " complete with manual and I paid for 4 private lessons on it. Needless to say I battled to understand any of it. My ruler adorns the bottom of my sewing cupboard now. So, since I found your channel my learning on making patterns has skyrocketed! And I cant wait to learn more! At the moment I am a bit behind on your lessons but want to try each one and keep on learning. Thank you for sharing your skill and knowledge. And yes, I'd love to hear your learning journey!

Hi Alisa! I love your channel and really appreciate all the work you put into making sewing accessible to us newbies. Ice been sewing for many years but have yet to dip my toe into the world of garment sewing. I have a pile of clothes I LOVE that have either gotten too big over the years (yay for losing weight) and some items that just need a fix here or there. You're so inspiring to me to pull that box or two out to get started! I think I can tackle copying some of my favorite blouses into a pattern to make my own! And I am excited to add embellishments along the way! Would you be interested in doing a tutorial or two about how to add detail to some of your garments to make them more unique and fun to you? I do love your style but I like to experiment and learn new things too. Particularly I want to find a way to make some of my old shirts a bit longer... Either by adding fabric or trim of some kind. I'll search to see if you have any videos that can help with that but if you need an extra idea for video content I'd love to see something like this?! Thanks so much! Love love love it!

Hi, I've been watching your video's for a while. I just love the way you explain things. I'm in a pickle, I'm learning to roller skate but very afraid of falling. At my tender age, healing may take a while 😵, I'm not a spring chicken anymore if you catch my drift. I'm hoping you can show me/us how to create padded shorts, where I could shape and stuff foam in pants. Amazon has padded pants, unfortunately not in my size😥. I'm really anxious to get started, please help............

I love your videos and your lovely face, thank you. Can I just ask, in this video when you’re coverstitching the pocket, it looks like you glided off the fabric as you would with a serger. If this is so, can you tell me what kind of cover stitch machine you were using to do this? I hate the tying off of stitches to secure them at the end of a seam. Again, thank you xx

Bev, hello there, thank you for being so kind, you cheered up my day! I have Brother Pacesetter Coversticth, here you can see me talk abou t it - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6PWl4yNocuIhNk but I still need to tie off the end by hand. Sometimes if the threads are long enough I take the hand sewing needle and tie off the ends like you would when finishing a hand sewn seam :) let me know if that makes sense :)

Whoa - clever little technique there at 4:10 in the video relative to placement of the opening curve. Can't say I've ever seen that before. Is there a little back story on determining that vertical/horizontal line combo? (I'd love to know more).
