Very nice! I'm currently drawing a friend's dog in graphite. I tried to stay as light as possible to avoid graphite shine, but since the eyes are very dark I had to use an 8B pencil. It seems no matter what I do, I get that shine, so I went over it with a hard charcoal pencil. The shine still comes through but not as bad. Can you later charcoal on top of graphite or vice versa?

Hello Grace. I use to do a lot of drawing when i was younger, but now getting back into it, and I am wanting tontry pet portraits. Your videos have helped me a lot on my first piece. I do have a long way to go. I just wanted to ask with your first outline, do you draw that freehand or trace it? I heardbyou mentioned digital outline, what do you mean by that? Thanks very much, love your work x

You're insanely talented Grace, I watch these videos multiple times trying to memorize everything and test out these techniques on random pieces of paper. I've improved thanks to your tutorials but I'm still being an absolute flannel about drawing my gsp haha, the fur is a ridiculous amount of detail to commit too
@gracemurrayart Жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you Jay! I'm so glad to hear my tutorials are helpful! Gsps are probably one of my favourites to draw.. think of all those millions of triangles we can get in there 😂

I like your technique, good use of the white pen also deep darks. How do you avoid graphite shine?
@gracemurrayart Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I don't avoid it, I see it as just a part of the medium and actually quite like it. It's like the drawing is etched in silver as I always say!
Hey JMZ, thank you so much! Love your work, too 🙏🏼

Great video Grace. Love your work 😊 Is there anything you can share about how you get the initial outline sketch on paper? You mentioned a “digital outline using trace down paper” - how do you do that? Thanks. Mark.

Hi Mark, thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I actually have a whole video on this from 11 months ago on my channel, it's titled 'How I Start a Portrait' or something similar! 🙌🏻
