Qua fietsinfrastructuur, klopt dat inderdaad!

That's the urban one, not the rural one FYI
@OntarioTrafficMan6 жыл бұрын
That's correct, although some municipalities such as Assen use the non-priority roundabout within the urban area, which is quite non-standard.

Are you an architect or urban planner? Did you learn to do this in your own?

Very well explained, thank you! Can you draw a roundabout with bike lanes separated from the main roundabout? Or with 2-way bike lanes tunnels under the roads?
@OntarioTrafficMan4 жыл бұрын
I will not draw the roundabout with bike lanes on the roundabout itself, since it is the least safe design for roundabouts - even less safe than having no bike lanes at all! The design with tunnels is of course the safest design, but I won't make a video about it because the process of designing the layout is not very interesting. You can put the tunnels wherever you like, since they don't interact with the roundabout itself anyway.

@@OntarioTrafficMan but the turbo roundabout above the bike tunnel would be interesting
@OntarioTrafficMan3 жыл бұрын
@@burgerpommes2001 I do enjoy drawing turbo roundabouts, but they're not really my specialty so I wouldn't be able to provide very accurate design guidance. If I continue this "drawing" series, the next intersection will be an A4 Partial Cloverleaf Interchange with separated bicycle paths.

Awesome round about ....

To be correct for Ontario, the bicycle paths should be green, instead of red. Something similar has been built in Ottawa, along the Kanata/Stittsville boundary (location below in Google Maps). Crossing markings don't align with the paths, however. www.google.ca/maps/@45.2703559,-75.8924096,3a,75y,45.35h,103.54t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sEE2kqqFL3MniFpWe2voMKw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en

Haha, yes that's true but I took that liberty because I find the fluo-green markings to be exceedingly ugly and they're non-regulatory anyway. The roundabout you linked there is highly problematic because it doesn't have tight entry radii onto the central circle and the bicycle path takes an sharp turn right before the crossing. And the signage and markings at the crosswalks would make it unsafe and illegal to ride a bicycle along those bicycle paths.

@@OntarioTrafficMan A Dutch example: www.google.ca/maps/@51.6720121,5.2923569,96m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en Shark teeth placed where cars have to stop when there are cyclists, so away from the other cars.

This looks very similar to a roundabout near my house. Only there are flowers between the walking people and cycling people.

why cant they just put coverleaf and atleast 4 lanes 🙄
