Yes you draw cube above horizon line. Quick trick: flip your paper upside down and the cube will then be above horizon.

is it possible to make a cube from above? I know this method and I always have a problem when the horizon is at the bottom.😅

isn't that taller than an actual cube would be? Also if you extend the method to a cube straight on where the ellipse is a perfect circle you end up with seeing both the front and back faces, which doesn't make much sense. The perfect square makes sense, the height of the cube doesn't, am I missing something?

The width of the ellipse is the width of the cube from the center of both left and right planes . This width is also height of the cube from center to center of each: top and bottom plane . I’m not sure what you mean by drawing the ellipse as a perfect circle. Check out Thomas Glenn as well for perspective construction of cube from imagination.
