Thank you a lot for this video! I wanted to ask you: did you come up with this method? Can you explain why it works? Or did you read it somewhere? I would really like to understand to process of it, because it seems kind of difficult to grasp all steps without understanding what I'm going for with each point. I'm interested in knowing the reasons for each step, even if they are difficult aspects of geometric relations, because I've wanted to learn something like this for some time now.

One of the better videos to show the math behind a PERFECT cube. A lot of the other videos “estimate” lengths simply using vanishing points which is fine for artistic drawings like comics, but those “estimates” will not work for true mechanical drawings if that is what you need.

no, its not work for comics as well. You have to know a better understanding of perspective for comics as well. And a lot of ppl dont know it, and dont teach it also...

Great stuff! The books I've got on perspective all avoid how to actually draw a cube and make it seem more like guesswork. This is a fantastic method. Does it work the same with 3-point perspective?

Glad it was helpful! i never try it using 3 point to be honest.

Why can we take the distance from the station point to the vanishion point and use it on the horizon line to find a new vanishing point? How are they related to each other?

I am trying to learn to make perspective... and tried to duplicate your procedure... I noticed that when you measured from vp1 to the right angle corner it was almost 13... but when you transferred it to the horizon it became almost 12.5... was that on purpose? sorry... I read your instruction it is suppose to be the same... did not notice it at first...🤗

04:36 why is the length of Fa is the exact length of the height to the nearest corner? I don't understand the process, can you explain this? I've been learning perspective recently, I can draw a perfect cube using PLAN Projection that I learned from Marshall Vandruff, then I start to think is there more ways to do this, that's when I found your video, but, I am having trouble understanding how you determine the height and why.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXOWhnimraufoJo I've found this. If you compare those points in that video with points a, b, d, e, f (but not point c) in this video, you can figure out why Fa is that exact length.

Could you please explain why, at 3.38, the length of the VP to Stationary Point gives the length of the VP to the Measuring Point. I understand how you do it; but why...?

is there a reason you started without the station point and then added it after the first side of the cube?

hi .. u DON'T have a perfect cube .. your VP1->b = about 12.8cm .. your VP1->E = less than 12.5 cm. (So very similar to Dan Beardshaw's video .. )

haha, the drawing is not perfect, but the method should be I guess XD
