I don't get the step at 1:26 Is he applying a mask? Or is he cutting the stripes? Why does he group first? Then ungroup and all of sudden the stripes match the planet shape?

@ Nops, he did not used mask, he selected two objects and used divide option in pathfinder

@1:00 couldn't get this to work in Illustrator 26.3. They must have changed how rounded corners work. I found that you had to select *small groups* of anchors at a time, then round their corners, so they would all work in unision. But you can't do all the anchors together, because the rounding won't work.
