I needed that second technique. I'm doing a stippling and finding it difficult to do fur in ink.. but I'm going to probably use this technique to do the sketch underneath and basically "trace" the sketch in ink.

This is good tutorial but not realistic when applied to real rendering. This kind of detail means that if your drawing a head your head should be at least 10 feet high.
