Mark, What I love about your drawing style is that you don't use all kinds of fancy equipment, just a regular pencil and eraser and yet create these masterpieces.

You're helping me discover and achieve goals that I didn't think I could! I hope you get to read this because I'm going to practice everyday. If you want to see a chrome effect on rounder objects, I would definately recommend looking through pencil drawings of old cars. I believe lots of '50's cars and the like benefitted from a powerful chrome look. If you were looking for something like a sphere, there are plenty of references for shading it. Just add in the classic blue/orange contrast Mark has described and used here. Good luck!! :)))

Now I'm just guessing here, but since those letters were might higher than the others he did that, you can even see that the second half of the 'h' letter is regular height so it had the dark part go up the regular amount.

1.loved the ochre at the end. those light shades made me squeel internally :) 2.i think someone should invent a pencil holder for when your pencils get too short to handle (maybe they're already out there)- not for stinginess reasons but bcz i think some materials are too precious to waste like those lovely colors, and it would help kids with motorical difficulties- Or maybe pencil factories could actually start making pencils with the writing material stopping an inch short of the end.
