Mark, today I just got your book, thank you so much for making this, I'm 13 years old and the art lessons in my school aren't very good, but this book made me see art in a whole new perspective, and I found the ending so heartwarming and sad at the same time, you and your books are my inspiration. Thank you

Hi Mark. Thank you for your instructional videos. They’ve helped me so much to draw and paint face features. Please, do not stop talking. You explain things so clearly that I wouldn’t get if you talked less. Same goes for the length of your videos. Please don’t shorten them. You are a great teacher as you are. Thank you again.

I got The Drawing Lesson this Friday and I love it so far. I'm trying to go through it as separate lessons the same way David is to really get a feel for it and remember each point. I'm only allowing myself to read the next chapter after I've done at least 10 drawings focusing on the last lesson I've read. I'm eight drawings in... two more till chapter 3!

To achieve a more natural look, use a blending stump to blend the shaded areas so there's no marbled texture, and you can also lift some of the pencil off using a kneaded eraser for highlights.
