I like how demon slayers art isnt a fully shaded, tonesd, thick lined and detail- filled masterpuece each panel, because it adds more movement and life to the panel, and makes it feel more smooth and less stiff
@gubblush286 Жыл бұрын
I love demon slayer art style, I think its one of the best looking ones. I like how most of them dont have super pointy chins. But what made me love the art so much is the eyes. That really make the art style the best for me.
@sedona-sky Жыл бұрын
I completely agree!!!! My art style is basically demon slayer with a few of my own twists. But anyway, it’s what got me started with manga and anime! I love demon slayer so much!!! I think it is a unique style because I haven’t seen an anime of manga with one similar! It’s by far my favorite and I love it so much!

demon slayers style is so unique what- no anime has this kinda style at all
@mitleid_en Жыл бұрын
Yeah this guy is kinda coping. It's one of the most unique I've seen and even though it's not super flashy and out there it's easily recognizable and pleasing to the eye. People think more detail = better art and it's just the ignorance talking. 😂

@seamagician70424 ай бұрын
@mitleid_en yup. He said something about the chin being the give away but for me it's the eyes. Dragin ball does a simular thing with the chin but I've never seen the eyes like that. Onto of that, the line weight. It's like it's drawn with a brush. I'd have liked some pictures in the video too other than the couple of faces he showed tbh. Would've helped with the points he was making
@konan22062 жыл бұрын
I think the manga art is charming, imo. it shows me that you don't have to have insane skills to be wildly successful
@giulyanoviniciussanssilva2947 Жыл бұрын
For me it shows that wildly comes in different styles and sizes.

This feels more like Demon slayer artist slander rather than a tutorial tbh 😭 Rather than getting thorough explanations all you say is generic if you didn't want to make this video you don't have to bruh 😭
@fromthesoulJah2 жыл бұрын
Idk why but I find this style so satisfying and it personally just fits me.
@Blipy11 ай бұрын
As somebody who's been working very specifically on mastering the Demon Slayer Anime artstyle, the biggest advice I can give is to focus on the lineart, eyes, and nose. KNY has very stylized usages of all of those. However some smaller details that really sell it are eye crease lines (to show eyelids), that under-mouth circle, very large clothing folds, and specific lines on the hair.
@kurodo99262 жыл бұрын
5:18 A small nitpick, but this manga panel is from Gaiden that was drawn by another person and has some small differences in style
@KAINONAUT2 жыл бұрын
There's some serious fundamental understanding that you're missing. There's definitely more nuance to the subject of style.

I agree. There's much more to Gotogue's artstyle than being "generic". For most of the video I agreed on his points except the thing about 'no line variation'. Ik that he's referencing the manga style for the most part but even in the manga there is some sort of variation with the lines as it's supposed to mimic the line weight of traditional japanese sumi brushes. Even with the anatomy, it's not basic. Believe me, I've tried time and time again to replicate Gotogue's anatomy and it's hard. This is coming from an intermediate artist btw (13 yrs of exp). The way they draw the anatomy makes them look shorter and wider than they look. Also the way they draw the limbs and hands are the most hard to replicate because it's mostly more geometric looking, and yet it still feels soft and flowy.

Hey, I absolutely love these videos as trying to break down a famous artist as a beginner is hard but these videos help. There is one artist that isn't very famous, but I personally think their manga art easily rivals Boichi and Yuske Murata (and is my favorite artist) : Ryouji Hirano. He is the artist of fate type redline, Bozebeats and few official demon slayer oneshots. I think his face, toning and inking styles are amazing and I think he deserves recognition even though your probably not going to make a video on him since he probably would not get nearly as many views as an artist like Kentaro Miura or Kentaro Miura.
@giulyanoviniciussanssilva2947 Жыл бұрын
I would say that for stylization reasons this is the perfect artist for beginners, both training and learning to hijack the style, just make it clear that it's not easy, it's simpler only when you go to other aspects as the author makes less stylized swords and clothing pattern, it has a certain level of challenge that goes up and saying that I think it's a very charming art for me the manga was already beautiful before the anime came out and after the anime it improved and evolved even more with beautiful double panels, I learn from this author the lesson that sometimes less is more and that she makes a different art, I like it when they break the pattern in a nice way.
@giulyanoviniciussanssilva2947 Жыл бұрын
Is no generic in my opinion.
@Oddball802 жыл бұрын
I agree that the style is simple but the eyes are where the interest lies. There is something about the eyes that make the style interesting. Maybe its the uniqueness that each character has in their eyes.
@cloudieskay Жыл бұрын
using this to draw my mom in the style since its one of the anime she likes. The last two inking tips is about to make me break the arbitrary rules I set for myself and I'm crying. I relate to you when you say it's engrained into you when you have a personal style. One thing I will add from my own observations is that the designs in the irises seem to vary by quite a lot! At least more than it does within one anime. Which I imagine would be pretty fun when you're drawing all the characters or even making an OC

Your not wrong, as a manga and anime reader, reading the demon slayer manga I really wanted the art to be more interesting and intriguing but it was pretty simple but it’s unique the sharp noses the little circle thing under the mouth and the eyes, that’s why if anybody showed me the style I would immediately recognize same with many anime fans it’s unique

I think that the generic-ness of demon slayer's art is one of its pros, the good thing with not standing out is that theres less risk of people straight-up finding the art ugly. One of the main reasons why i wasnt able to start reading one piece was because when i looked at the art, the characters are too stylised and too expressive to the point that they kind of just look ugly imo. Demon slayer is pretty, and its characters are recognisable, and thats all that it needs to be

Same I actually had same kind of opinion while watching op and Jojo
@sedona-sky Жыл бұрын
Same, that’s how I felt trying to start one piece and dragon ball!!!! It was to stylized and I found it ugly, so much so I have never watched it and most likely never will, me being an artist, I watch what I would draw, so things like Spy x Family, Demon Slayer and Attack On Titan, I think, are great art styles!
