depends on the where you want the light source to come from, but in general pics like this one Crilley did, its up to you really, it all changes on even things like type of hair, but i'll just advise for starters that a small curve with small jags to show each hair is a general idea.

I'm still an amateur artist and I can only draw girls naturally. I'm still learning how to draw guys and this video has really helped me! Doing the basics, like starting w/ the head, is really helpful. ^__^ And I really like your art style. @AIMANALI Well, I do prefer the Prisma Color Pencil because so far it's the only color pencil that I know that can draw over another color. But you can try inking your drawings with a fine tipped pen. (If you have a regular color pencil set you can see for yourself how they don't cover another color well) Btw the numbers are just to identify what kind and color the pencils are and I don't use any special paper but the kind you might want is the thick, professional paper skilled artists use.

Yeah of course! As long as you enjoy it and spend a little time here and there, you will definitely get better over the years. It may take a while, but it is DEFINITELY worth it in the end :) I regret it now that I didn't draw as much as I want to :(

I think it helps when u do an over time video on drawing, it gets abit boring if its all talk, but doin t that way gives you an idea how it goes with out the breaks for "long" speaches

I have one question about these How to Draw Hair videos. Since you're teaching us how to draw your hairstyles then how do we start drawing our own original hairstyles?

depending on how dark you want it, you can go to an art supply store such as A.I. Friedman's or Michael's and they'll sell pencils that are marked HB following a number. depending how dark/light, will differ with the numbers.

Yah know that you can use a normal mechanical pencils for drawing right? I my self use normal HB wooden graphite pencils. If you get mechanical pencils make sure you get one that's 0.5 and 0.7, or if you want like a really dark shade, try charcoal but careful charcoal does smug a lot, but i guess everyone knows that xD

Hi its me I wrote a comment on the anime eyes segment. I have a few questions. Why aren't anime eyes porportuanal to the nose and mouth? When drawing noses, why are they often appearing as a little speck. Is there a way to quickly add in a nose without losing the appeal anime characters typically have? And also why do characters look alike, if they're so many ways to draw eyes for example, why do many illstrators use only one style?

I have a profesional manga book from a long time ago that tells you what you need to make your own manga and how to make your own manga. It's really good advise in some areas. anyway, it says 2B mechanical pecils with refills are used, or a regular pencil. (which I use for shading!)

That's where I bought mine but unfortunetly they were all out of black so I bought a whole set of Prisma Colors including black. Oh, and if I can't find out how to make my cam cord to upload videos I'll just take pictures and try to make a vid like that :)
