What would be really helpful is a more detailed look at a much smaller section on your actual technique and pencil movement in translating such a dense/detailed texture to the page. I have always tended to draw the hairs but it looks as if you create a lot by drawing 'around them' to leave the page showing through....incredibly by the way!!

I did like it over all, but if you go to the beginning and then end results first. You see a lot of discrepencies, which I didnt like. With lack of shading. Fot the most part, if he shaded more. I think he would have had a nicer finish. But Im just starting to draw again, and Im not very good at copying unless its copy paste, or if I draw over it. Another thing an art teacher tought me. Was you can take picture, scribble on the back of it. Really well, until. And then you can put a paper under it. Then trace it out, as much detail you need to get a good start. I was in art class, and it was just a duck, and mountains. I was stuggling so much until she walked over and said to do that. Then I just had to mix colors, and paint it. And she showed mr different ways to get different shades of green. She was very helpful. I wish there were more of her around 😃 some times she would take over and do some of it for me. Most of the time I didnt mind.I do love art ❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Dan. I'm new to your vlog but I think your art is amazing. My personal specialty is portraits with pencil, I am very meticulous and a perfectionist so I understand that you must have patience for your style. I always go into more detail than most people but not to the extent you do. I am learning alot from your vlog and appreciate you making them. But I wonder, how would you draw a portrait with a full on beard?
@ashnikfield42246 жыл бұрын
My advice is to use the grid method for portraits. I'm a graphite portrait artist myself, and this could help since you are drawing each square of the facial hair.

Yes but it doesn't look that good since is one shade of graphite.
