@@CartooningwithPaul Yeah there are definitely exceptions and Disney brings the hammer down when it comes to lawsuits. Roughly around 2007, they used a short clip of Steamboat Willie whistling at the helm of the boat as part of their "Walt Disney Pictures" intro, which cements that exact part of the animation into the Disney trademark, which people have to be very careful of when using the character. However, many of the other characters from Steamboat Willie have not received any form of extra protections against the undoing of their copyright, and those characters are all 100% legal and above board to animate.

Superrrrr!! I really didn't know Mickey had so much history it's so fun to know about the guy, I've been watching him through my childhood and now I got to know quite a bit. The video was exciting man awesome work dude💪💕 would be fun to see maybe sketching another old school cartoon character but one which isn't so common... Maybe like Popeye the sailor? He would be so fun to draw and many people would reminisce 😮

Hallo ich habe dein Video gesehen du malst aber schon sehr sehr lange das sehe ich bei deiner Hand sie führte schon ganz allein zu der Malerei es macht dir bestimmt viel viel Spaß ich bin auch schon dabei und zwar male ich Steamboat Willie mir macht die Malerei sehr viel Spaß ich male auch schon andere Bilder und zwar fishing und Talkshow habe auch sehr sehr viele Bilderrahmen von Mickey sehr sehr alter teilweise 1930 von berühmten Künstler habe zur Kur ein Original von Elias Disney am Tannenbaum ich bin sehr begeistert von Elias Disney er hat ja die kleine Micky Maus in sein Hobbyraum gesehen und daraus entstand Micky Maus hatte auch mal so eine kleine Maus in der Wohnung ich habe ja immer was zu essen gegeben ich habe es nie fertig gebracht diese kleine Maus zu töten meistens kam sie abends raus da habe ich ihr ein Stück Käse hingelegt und am nächsten Tag war es weg da waren wir noch klein aber sie hat ein sehr viel Freude gemacht aber jetzt bin ich selber schon Rentner aber als Zeichner braucht man sehr sehr viele Geduld und eine ruhige Hand ich weiß ist alles Erfahrung diese DVDs die du mir zeigst das sind Raffinessen habe selber solche DVDs guck sie gerne immer an aber Mickey hat ja bald Geburtstag mit seiner Mini und zwar am 18 November da wird Mickey und Minnie Maus 95 Jahre ich freue mich schon 2028 da fahre ich ins Disneyland Paris da wird bestimmt eine Menge los sein vielleicht treffe ich dort auch Disney Fans habe schon Mickey kennengelernt voriges Jahr 22 da hat Mickey mir ein Herz gezeigt und wir haben getanzt da kam der neue Hit 30 Jahre Disney ach noch was Mickey hat sich sehr über mein T-Shirt gefreut denn da war auf Steamboat Willie 1928 das war der Durchbruch seiner Filmkarriere alle Hochachtung für diesen Mann Elias Disney ich wünsche euch einen schönen wunderschönen Tag❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

Steamboat Willie and Brave Little Tailor and Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey are all my favorite original shorts!! Ub Iwerks is one of my heroes! That guy did SO much for Walt, as a friend, and for Disney, as a company!! Loved this tutorial!! I’ll have to go look for it, and I know it’s been a couple of years since you filmed this video, but I hope you did that video on Mickey’s history! I showed my nephew, who loves to draw, when he was about 9-10 years old (now he’s 20 😳) I showed him a lot of Disney’s original shorts! I especially showed him how different Mickey looked and his progression throughout the years! To say that was a magical Disney moment, is an understatement! °o°

I enjoyed watching you draw Mickey Mouse today. I see Mickey as a personafied mouse, so I imagine him wearing any style of clothing that people have imagined. I also imagine him to be a little more stretchy as a cartoon character with movements and facial expressions that mimic humans. But unlike humans, he does not seem to age.
