I felt the same way, check out Ed Hardy if you haven't, him and Jerry were friends (Jerry died in 73) but Ed was credited with opening up the first Custom tattoo shop in North America, before that it was almost all flash, both pioneers.

Great tutorial! Do you have a video where you show up the "rules" about design choices and color pallettes a traditional tattoo flash should follow?
@bmphil3400 Жыл бұрын
Look here on KZbin and look at info on Sailor Jerry, Bert Grimm, Cap Coleman etc. There are only 4-5 accepted colors in old school traditional. Black, red, green, yellow, sometimes blue. There are loose ratio rules of black to red to bare skin etc....

The iPad is an awesome tool for tattoo artists. I've used mine for every tattoo I've done. Even if you are literally just copying an image line by line for tattoo, it's great to use to go in and clean up the image, remove artifacts around the image, clean up the lines, etc. especially if someone gives you a low quality image they want tattooed.

I know he uses an iPad Pro w the bigger screen. I prefer my 11 inch iPad Pro but you can use procreate w any iPad, it helps to have a Paperlike screen protector to feel more like using pencil on paper. Also I draw w paper just as much as digital. It’s good to practice how to use both traditional and digital media. Hope this helps!
