As a amateur at drawing, these videos inspire me, sometimes I try to draw your little character in the bottom corner but end up with a blob that has a bed head. Im getting into drawing manga and oc's and practicing the eyes, but that's all I'm good at. I hope I can become an artist like you some day.

You definitely can! So many artists start the same! Repetition is key. The more you draw the better you get at understanding things like anatomy, perspective and shading. Keep it up. It might seem overwhelming now but I year from now you'll look at your older drawings and see improvements! Good luck!

here's some tips for new creators: Instead of doing all the lines over and over, all you need to do is just make a coloured head (with no face and hair at the front), a hair that includes the hair at the back, the body, the legs, the arms (separate them for every character except bf) and the faces. Then just edit them together, blip blam boom. It takes a while but I suggest doing new arms etc for each pose.

I have some advice too! To avoid the problem she had with the banana draw a box around the edges of the character, and make sure your drawing fits in the box doing this will make it so it won't shake (make sure to put the boxes layer invisible once you want to put it into the game), the person here is really good at drawing, but doesn't know much about how the coding works (even though she did a good job) and if you want to add custom music and arrows i recommend watching the tutorials by William tries everything, hope this helps!!!

tip: you could use animate cc (adobe animate), there are some assets that you can get from github that ninja muffin put and you can edit them the bf/MM/DD/gf and many others. (you can just edit the assets and all the keyframes that are there will change with the things you change to the assets, like if you paint the hair of bf black you wont have to do it for all the keyframes) but you'll need to do more things to make the assets work if you are gonna try to make a whole new character in the game

I’d honestly use Adobe Animate for this since you’d be using the games actual source files instead of the already exported files and you don’t need to worry about stuttering, pixelated graphics or anything like that.

I ended up going through mostly the same process as you did, including the errors as I tried it... A lot learned in hindsight. I will say that you can fix the jitter and the issues with cutting off models by editing the boundary locations in the .xml file for the target character. To allow for poses that extend beyond the original's boundaries.

Everyone, one thing to say: MAKE SURE THE SPRITE THAT YOU ARE CREATING HAS THE SAME HEIGHT AS THE CHARACTER YOU ARE TRYING TO REPLACE. If you don't, the character will not show up when you test it, and it will be invisible. Just wanted to help you guys since this happened to me, and I fixed it by matching the height to the sprite I was editing.

I use adobe animate to edit the sprites, because the game's sprites were made in it, so they are MUCH easier to edit. But this is a great alternative if you don't have adobe animate! Great video!

I have some experience with working on character assets, but I'll let out something that someone who had more experience with this told me. Some artists actually use Adobe Animate which is what PhantomArcade (the person who drew all the characters except for Senpai) used to make the animations, the poses, everything. I never used Adobe Animate before, but I actually find that process easier than using an art program, cause you can seldom tell if the character replacement assets are actually lined up with the original. but that's just me. You guys can use an art program if you want, I won't stop you (cause I do that as well)

Hey! I see this and I think it is really cool but the assets are jittering in-game, I recommend you maybe update the tutorial but maybe use an animation tool like Flash since that is how the game is animated and looks a lot smoother, although I'd get it if you didn't update the tutorial, flash may cost money and idk how compatibility works with alternatives.

Yeah I was trying to make a tutorial without flash since most people wont be able to get it. Since it was my first time doing it the banana and girlfriend (my husband) assets jittered a lot but I think k I got the hang of it by mine. Eventually I'll redo the assets I've made and make them better though. But I think if people try this without flash some of my mess ups will help them not make the same mistakes so I'll probably just leave the tutorial as is. Thank you for your help and feedback!

The Better Way: Download the Unconpiled Version of fnf, open the Flash Files of each Character and open in Adobe Flash or Animate, Make Character, Change some stuff in the XML, Somehow export the animations as Spritesheets, profit

Well done! But heres a tip try using colors that are darker and more vibrant for example if you want a shadow for your skin colors instead of making it darker make it slightly red or if you want a light for green try mixing in a little yellow

Here is a quick tip: Use Adobe Animate when you edit the characters. It creates an .xml file when you selected the right file format, or else you’ll just get an image.

Hello, I am from the future, as of now making an fnf animation or just a character can just be how you draw, it doesn’t matter, all you have to do is import said character into the fnf sprite sheet maker, and then use some fnf engine (doesn’t matter really) to make the sprites, and your done No more having to edit anything now, all it takes is animating and a few moving your character into the right position and your done
