I did it for my best friends dad for his birthday. My bff and I tore down the living room wall and put a tank in it. We used Joey's book for reference. It's now a 12 foot half wall salt water tank and beautiful. Think about Joey's basement tanks but a whole 12 foot wall. Tuck us a month and his mom had just about had it with us by the time it was done. They all love it. 5 years later and still doesn't leak, or anything.

no one really watches them though. i do these all the time, they just dont get served. DIY is great, but has to be searched for. Its not that i stopped doing DIY projects, its that i have to hide them in regular videos with different titles and thumbnails that dont show the project.

Another easy source for tempered glass as reference is glass shelves from refrigerator or freezer. Also rotate the polarized glasses to see the pattern easier.

I read online 40g breeders are not tempered. On the bottom of mine it says tempered, someone said " that's probably just the bottom panel". If I see that sticker should I assume all sides are tempered??

Great info but most new vehicles are going to laminated glass on the side windows which may not be tempered.

Look for the stamp! My new vehicle had it. If not, use fridge glass shelves!

More importantly glass is made from quartz sand, which means drilling through glass causes silica dust to fly into the atmosphere meaning it could go into your lungs and silica dust wreaks havoc in your respiratory system.

Absolutely nothing you can do

Choose another solution to get the water in/out or replace the tank. There is no reasonable DIY way to make a hole in tempered glass and I doubt it's a job many pro's can take on. Tempered glass is designed to fracture into small pieces as soon as the surface is damaged, this is to eliminate the risk of large shards that can cause deep cuts.

Addicting????? Joey..... I have ADHD like you... But I don't drink lots of energy drinks so I'm all over the place and always overwhelmed with the idea of drilling tanks. I have drilled plenty but I know it takes what feels like forever!! When you have ADHD lol I have 4 20 gallons to drill, a 40 gallon, then need to drill 9 more 10 gallons so I can redo my Offish and have a bunch of tanks drilled so I can have auto water changes and them drain and me do nothing lol I hate drilling tanks!! So tedious!!!
