Soju doesn’t taste like a spirit but drinking too fast makes it one I suppose. You’ll be fine mixing 14-20% is not much. How I know is a fun story. I’ve been to Korea for like a night 9-10 hours max and spent it in a random place drinking soju and eating bibimbap with random korean soldiers until morning. All drunk three of us seperated and I went back to catch my flight home.

Soju is fairly low alcohol content. I used it to water down vodka one time. Yes I was already drunk when I decided that was a good idea.

My favorite is mixing the yogurt flavored Soju with a glass of Cass beer. Tastes EXACTLY like a cream soda. I highly recommend it! I drink way to much of this combo when I go to my local Korean BBQ place.

Soju bottles used to have corks. I heard you spin the bottles to create a vortex containing the cork bits in the center then you slam with scissor fingers to let the swirl escape the bottle including the cork bits. Its a very effective way of removing floating cork bits out of your soju.
