Great advice. i have an 18ft Avor 50hp inboard fisher.The last heavy weather was 2 close to 3 mt with 5 secs,felt like 2 seconds. The only advantage i had was the size of the boat being so small. Steady at around 5kts into and changing around to tail home. Worked out ok as waves wernt breaking just heavy swell. Wnter i am normally alone and cant stress enough for hand held VHF,s clipped to life jackets. Happy boating

What's the proper setup for steering wheel? Center with the driver or wheel and throttle center with the driver? I have seen both on many ribs

Great stuff guys, what is your opinion on using auto trim tabs? I have a zipwake system on my new 7 metre aluminum with 250 evinrude.

We love the ZipWake system on the right application. Great bit of kit. As standard ruling: feel a good hull design shouldn’t need tabs, number of brands use them as a requirement, to assist in running bigger outboards and to correct hull running. We like tabs for single engines in a beam sea to level the boat out. Water sports, big seas, added running surface, so where the application is a benefit it can add to the user experience, but should be there to already add to great design 👌🏻

@@POWERBOATANDRIB thanks for the response, I only got the boat yesterday so have had one day with them, small bit of swell but nothing testing, I have a 17 degree dead rise so will be avoiding the bigger stuff if I can, I'm going to do some comparison tests tomorrow with them on and off.

Well, after another day out, tried with zipwake in auto mode and it felt like a different boat, very impressed!
