This is my 11th gen civic si, and in today’s video I will be doing my best to teach first time manual owners on how to drive their car. Enjoy:)

It’s really as simple as listening to your car. It’ll tell you when to shift.

Lmaooo me too bro. Been driving a manual for a year now. Learned it on the 23 civic si as well. And i will say, itll come naturally. Sometimes I forgot i even shifted.

Good video, and love the car! Just got a manual Miata a week ago and I'm gradually getting better.

exactly what I did with my 9th gen si almost a year ago, watched a couple videos and learned manual off the lot as well. MAN the amount of times i stalled and panicked LMFAO. Now ive improved a lot and its actually so fun to drive manual frfr

I did the same on a 9th gen si aswell no knowledge at all its was a great experience till i had to change my clutch

just got my 2023 civic si last week and its an amazing car to learn manual in. The clutch bites towards the end which is kinda different. Learning manual with this car has been not as stressful than some manual cars!

You can use your left foot to brake as well when your more advanced getting into circuit driving

The clutch is super easy and forgiving, if you try the new Subaru WRX it’s a bit heavier and a bit tricky if you’re new.

Practice, you don't want to stall in the middle of making a left turn at the stop light with incoming traffic.
@Gotbread2527 күн бұрын
You got this bro. You are not the only one. Ive been driving a manual transmission for a year now, the first time I got the car I stalled it 3 times at the dealership and everybody was looking at me lmaooo. Give it time, be patient, practice and most importantly be safe. Good luck brother🤝🏾🤙🏽

i watched both of your videos i’m 17 just got a 2024 SI only has 100 miles on it 😂 love the car it’s my first stick shift i was in some traffic and stalled 2😂 but im leading quick…any advice
@abraham3981Ай бұрын
Balance the clutch pedal release grabbing point with the accelerator pedal engagement to make it as smooth as possible, you don't want too many revs as you are releasing the clutch while you also don't want to give too little revs or too late of a revs as you are releasing the clutch which can chatter it. Also when you release the clutch pedal after changing gears don't release too fast specially in second gear which causes a jerking motion.
@Gotbread2527 күн бұрын
@@abraham3981genuine question sir, what do you mean by “chatter it”. I always give it revs while releasing the clutch pedal when i take off on first gear and when going on reverse is that bad for the clutch/engine or the car in general?? Only been driving manual for a year and dont really know anything about cars like that
@TrendyTryhard16 күн бұрын
@@Gotbread25you don't have to give it revs every time, but as long as you don't smell the clutch it's not really a big deal
@MikeNizzleАй бұрын
You never sat or rode in a manual car? How old are you? Glad you found stick and wanted to learn not too many people even want to learn anymore
@xXYellowFlashXxАй бұрын
Do you have to put it back in neutral if u stall? It’s already in first when I stall could I just start it in first and drive away?
@nathangriffin2027Ай бұрын
correct. you don't have to put it in neutral. cluch in and restart.
@Yeidisson11thgensiАй бұрын
You would have to clutch in in order to start the car in a gear, so if you stall in first gear clutch in start the car and start from square one

I'm relatively new but what works for me is tapping the gas before down shifting so the car doesnt jerk and go low rpms.
