Whilst at Battles through history show last weekend we decided to film what it takes to drive Deborah 2.
It was as always, nice to be at a show again and meet everyone and see some amazing guest vehicles.
If you liked this style of video, let us know as it’s a first for us and it took a lot longer to edit together than we expected. XD
We are offering a reward for anyone who has any information on where we can find our missing tent poles 😉😂

Hi I did a landscaping job at Nuffield Surrey and the customer’s Grand father drove DUKS on D Day so I organised a pub Sunday lunch for him and his family at the Castle pub in Outwood and granddad would be taken there in the Duk.I asked Dave Roe the owner of the Duk if he would be interested in taking a D Day veteran to the pub in his Duk and he jumped at the chance so a good time was had by all it was a fantastic day and a big thank you to Dave Roe The Duk in your you tube footage at Ardingley is the one

Links on the DUKW is for air lines to adjust the tyre pressures on the move.

A very neat trick on later versions because no one was stopping to blow them all up to road pressure, so they were eating tyres :o)

Fascinating video thanks Aaron, incredible job driving those tanks, a good job they were not expected to travel and fight at the same time!

I love this channel solely because of you blokes. I've no interest in tanks whatsoever. Your knowledge and expertise of engines and general mechanics is off the scale though, and every video leaves me humbled and in awe of the stuff you can do. But this one really made me laugh. The look of concentration and sheer terror on your faces from 3:00 was pure joy :) I've got a few days off work soon - I'll be taking the 4-hour drive down to Norwich. You're legends. EDIT = fantastic load btw. I work in construction, and I've watched Cat and JCB excavator drivers (with superb all-round visibility and modern pinpoint steering) do a WAY worse job. EDIT 2 = the wheel linkages on the DUKW thingy were designed to reign in the gung-ho-yee-haw mindset of US troops so that they'd think twice before claiming that they'd won WW2 on their own.

The linkages on the DUKW wheels are for the tyre inflation/deflation system. On the dash is a control to adjust tyre pressures with graduations for "Coral, Sand, Tarmac" and probably others I've forgotten. AeM John

Definitely the turretless Ferret, if it was good enough for Action Man in ‘78 it’s good enough for me.

"Fond memories of the really light steering" I guess you were talking about the Armstrong power steering and how it made the vehicle so Maneuverable.

I did pass my test in the Knocker , flat bed with a crane , bloody heavy steering , you had to stand up and steer

Another great blog. That knocker reminds me of my B2 course. Driving around Wiltshire and the steering was hard work 😂. You know how big I am Arran 😂😂!!

80” landrover with the bloke in the back is a minerva. Belgium army? Anyhoo, for reasons they were sold as incomplete knock-down kits. They gave them flat front wings.

Can you imagine: what a hell it would have been, driving one of these towards the German trench line? Bellowing noise, cramped, hot, exhaust fumes, boiler factory bangs, lurching and bashing against everything and every one... And fear.

First off, it's replica guys, build a heat shield around the exhaust. 2nd, were noise canceling headphones for better communication. Other than that, love the tank....

I drove a DUKW in the water. They turn slowly for a boat, the response is delayed, so you have to anticipate the direction you need to face to go there.

Gardner had 2,3 and 4 port injection pumps, . Thus enabling a 2,3,4,5,6 or 8 cylinder engine.

I expected it to be louder and exhaust venting into the crew compartment. Is that a period engine? Did you add exhaust pipes?
