A car with not a lot of torque won’t take off as easily without using the gas pedal. You can do it with most cars. It’s really just finding the clutch’s sweet spot. But a car with sufficient torque will make takeoffs easy when giving it little to no gas at all. Great video man. Great explanations!

How do you make turns in a manual car? When should you switch gears? When should you down shift? Do you have to shift all the way back down to 1st gear before you stop at a stop sign? Is it possible to stall a moving car?
@stevencordova78044 жыл бұрын
Those questions is whats important to me aswell💀💀
@plumbingstuffinoregon24714 жыл бұрын
If you can turn with one hand it should be no problem shifting as you turn, or if you want you can shift after you turn. Downshifting is just like upshifting, but in reverse. When I come to a stop I push in the clutch and hit the brakes, then put it into 1st or 2nd gear after I stop. I drive an old truck with a super low 1st gear, so I don't need it unless I'm hauling stuff. And it's extremely rare to stall once moving, but it can happen if you're not careful.
@abababa35424 жыл бұрын
Probably shouldn’t downshift into 1st...
@plumbingstuffinoregon24714 жыл бұрын
@@abababa3542 True. Not unless you're going really really slow.
@midnight3474 жыл бұрын
Its easy man dont overthink it. You downshift just like you upshift say you're moving along 45 mph in 4th gear...you have to slow down to 25-30...you move up to 3rd or down to 2nd depending on the speed you're going and how the car is geared every car is different it just takes a little seat time and eventually you will know exactly what gear you need to be in at what speed etc. If you're driving spirited in mountains or on track it's best to rev match down shift before you go into the curve it helps to slow you down making it easier on your brakes and makes sure you're in the correct gear coming out of the turn so you can have max acceleration if that makes any sense. Dont overthink driving a manual. Just learn how to get the car moving and practice moving up and down the gearbox even while stopped the rest will come to you with seat time. It's just like an auto but.you gotta shift the gears instead of them being shifted for you.

I had a question if you don't mind please- When you are having to make a left on the lights and need to move fast so as to not bother the traffic behind you and move safely then how do you move fast in manual? Here we have to wait in the middle of the intersection for the parallel traffic to clear, and then make the turn when it is safe, so we need to move at a fairly reasonable speed, so in manual how would you move fast in that situation, because the method of easing off the clutch and finding the biting point then moving slowly would not allow for that kind of speed and pace. Please let me know. Thank you very much.
