The creation of the V10 was lead by Lexus' chief engine designer Okamoto Takamitsu. The engine starts life at Toyota's Myochi plant. It is at this plant that the engine block is made from molted aluminium. The block is then sent to Toyota's Honsha factory. The same factory that used to be Toyota's F1 engine facility. The block will get milled, drilled and polished and emerges as a precise engine block. In a sealed room Takumi’s hone every sharp edge using precision polishing tools. After this a highly skilled Takumi pre-assembles the finished engine blocks to check if they fit precisely. Disassembled they travel as unit to Yamaha’s Iwata city plant. It is at this plant that 4 highly skilled Yamaha Takumi’s fully assemble the V10. A process that takes 2,5 days for one engine. Before the engine gets put into an LFA, it undergoes a half day of exhaustive testing. When Toyota and Yamaha collaborate, greatness is made!

Probably my all time dream car. Not real wild about the interior spec but I wouldn’t care what color it was id take any LFA. By far the best sounding car ever produced. It’s beyond impressive how good Lexus and Yamaha made this thing sound. It makes me wonder what it’d sound like if it were straight piped or had an even louder exhaust on it (assuming this didn’t because of the quieter start up). I’d do anything to be able to drive one of these cars. Just seeing one in person is on my bucket list. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been able to see a Bugatti Chiron, Pagani Huayra, several Lamborghinis and Ferraris, and several other insane cars. The coolest cars I’ve ever driven are a Ferrari 458 and a Lamborghini Huracan STO (video of that is on my channel). But this car is an all time bucket list car just to even see in person. The LFA was Toyota’s go at a real sports car. It was originally designed with an all aluminum chassis but later on decided to go all carbon fiber. Which basically took too long. By the time the car was released, it was old school, old news. By then we had dual clutch transmissions and other features that made the LFA obsolete. The exhaust and induction paired with Yamaha made this car sing. Amazing car with a beautiful engine and interior. ❤
@yo2trader5396 ай бұрын
It's neither obsolete nor delayed. Toyota only made 500 LFAs as it was a limited edition for their most loyal core racing fans. Since the LFA was an experimental vehicle, Toyota sold the car below the production cost. They lost money on the 500 vehicles, yet they gained experience with new materials and technologies. It's basically an experimental prototype for the benefit of their engineers/designers that was sold to the public.

Geez I LOVE the INTERIOR of this one😍😍😍😍😍; NOTE how the red-line starts at around 7,000rpm when it's cold, & increases when it warms up - HOW COOL IS THAT!!!??? RTFM to find the park brake, lol... apparently this car has about a dozen User Manuals, for various parts of it - and one is just for how to clean it, & what NOT to do when you're cleaning it.. apparently the rear wing comes up automatically at around 50mph/80km/hr.. you have to be an absolute fanatic to buy one of these (which I ABSOLUTELY WOULD if I had the $$$, lol). Lexus had to sell these at a loss, to sell them at all - unbelievable, since they now go for more than their original price.. I just hope that the LFA has given the Lexus brand an immeasurable boost in the marketplace for luxury cars, & that the loss on each LFA has benefitted Lexus in the long run!! Just imagine this car with a modern dual-clutch shifter... come on Lexus, the 2020's are crying for an updated version of the LFA - just give us exactly the same car, same awesome V10, with a dual-clutch gearbox.. omgosh, what a MACHINE THAT would be 😍🤩🤯😵😵😵! the building down the road some pharmaceutical firm, their CEO drives an SVJ Aventador thing, with some Corsa exhaust straight through exhaust... it shakes the windows and those gear changes are super deep with loud clunking sounds.. so I think the LFA holds the best exhaust note standard from the factory in this case.. don't get me wrong I'm not cussing the LFA by any means.. and let's not forget there is also the Mazda 787b which .. hmm which does sound mental too...
