Most cant, i note she can lift her legs. As they are crossed st the knees, indicating she has no complete spinal cord injury ie messages cant travel to the legs to say "leg lift". Also this Indicates she still has some muscle strength. She can also get herself into a regular arm chair.....one of the largest hurdles for most is simply even transferring ie chair to loo. Bed etc..so a good video but in reality. No most wheelchair bound people cannot, not in a regular car. A van that has been gutted, back entry ramp so you can ride your wheelchair into a drivers position is the reality for "most wheelchair users" as she puts it... price tag $100 thousand au plus...minimum. I was watching for step one.... how can i transfer to a normal car? Noone in my family can afford a wheelchair vehicle so for 8 years ive never bern able to go anywhere with them. DONT GET ME WRONG.... YOULL ALL HATE ME NOW... but shes young and naive... dont say " most wheelchair users" most would need some form of hydraulic lift system to even get in, so what happens when you get to your destination???

When I first got out of the hospital on a wheelchair I taught that wasn't too much you can do with the wheelchair but watching your videos I'm amazed no nothing it's impossible but it's been five months thank God I'm slowly walking so things are getting a little bit easier than when I was in a wheelchair but I still got a long ways it takes up to 2 years for your nerves stopped generating till then you just have to deal with a lot of pain I'm try to be as much positives possible but its hard because I'm walking slow like a grandma but even now I'm still on my wheelchair wherever I go I think its just easier because I'm used to it I really enjoy your videos I'm glad I found your channel😃

The lightest powered wheelchair I have found in Spain is a Sitgo carbon fibre model weighing 12.5kilos which is just too heavy to manipulate through the front of the car. What is the make of the one you use and it's weight. Also the cost. Paul
@NCHPAD20 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching, Paul! Unfortunately, we don't have the make, model, and cost of the chair used in this video. The good news, however, is that we'll be releasing a 4 part updated series for how to choose a wheelchair at the the top of 2025 that might be a lot more helpful. If you subscribe to our channel and turn on notifications, you'll be amongst the first to know once it launches.

Its not in most cases. I got excited to watch this as i miss my freedom of driving so much but i cant even transfer to a normal car.. So was keen to watch, " how to transfer..". When she said "most in wheelchairs", she was way wrong. She clearly has some lower mobility, even if decreased , one of the first things i noticed was she was in a regular lounge chair, wheelchair not in front but beside the chair. WITH her legs crossed over at the knees. To sit like that you must have enough muscle strength to lift your leg up in the air. So its only possible for a very small group ie in a regular car. Ive not sat on a lounge chair for 8 years, cant transfer.... so dont get me wrong but yep i was disappointed when she said most people... most people in wheelchairs cannot do this. Take it from a paraplegic. I cant get in and out of bed... Its possible but in her case, she has some lower mobility. For people who cannot get out of a chair?? They still need a wheelchair accessible car. I was more caught be the how to transfer to the car... thats the first step ie if i could even transfer to a normal car eg to go out with family.....id be stoked. Getting in the car, step one......

Wouldn't work for me I got limb girdle muscular dystrophy I could drive you anywhere but my problems is getting out of the jeep ive got a electric wheel chair I find it also difficult '''when I go to sit in the electric wheel chair I can't see behind me properly and have missed the seat altogether a few times 'it's so embarrassing 'lying there and can't get up and have to wait on a ambulance coming to get you up 'at the moment I can't walk at all very well I rely on my wheel chair 100 per cent 'and I'll tell you it can be a challenge some days 'when you have to go to the toilet for example 'it's a very slow process 'although I'm getting a wash dry toilet and putting in a wet room all this costs money the wet room is 7250 that includes the wash dry toilet 'the toilet on its own is 3250 'but it's money well spent never have to clean your butt again never need toilet paper again 'this toilet washes you with warm water and the jets of warm water can be turned up or down then the hot air blows you completely dry 'I would advise anyone who has difficulty with the toilet '''to get one of these they are brilliant

I went for my driver's license in Richmond B.C. Jan 29 at 4:30 and my driving instructor a Chinese man I had to argue for 10 minutes that my neck was broken in 1998 the discs in my neck have been welded (fixed) where I can't turn my neck to back up and this man would not believe me and for 10 minutes we argue and I show him my scares this man would not believe me at all, his manager made we move to another window and my ride was sitting right there I left richmond that day with another broken neck because this driving instructor would not believe me why did this happen
