Right on Jay!!! I now live in Massachusetts but miss the days of Bodyboarding with you at the wedge, and San Clemente, over 30 years ago!! Glad to see you made a livelihood out of your passion!

The older (and less flexible) I get, the hard it is to get my front foot forward enough. But I'm still dropkneeing into my 40s and will do so until physically unable to do so!

I hear ya. I'm 60 and still dropkneeing. Gotta stretch every day! I spend about 15-20 minutes stretching every single day.
@jzen14556 ай бұрын
@@eBodyboardingcom I appreciate your feedback Jay! I've always hated stretching but have to get in the habit of doing it. It's awesome and inspirational knowing you're still DK'ing and ripping it in the water!

That tail totally different than the "normal" ISS Model! That´s why so much water in the air! You are the master but i would like to have the same board!

Definitely looks small, like 39/40 inch it's his pro model so maybe check the hubboardz website 🤙

Does drop knee work like frontside backside or is it done switch? I am new to bodyboarding but not new to surfing.
@JayReale2 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a frontside and backside in DK.

Hey guys. What's the name, model, brand of those fins? Where can you buy?
@tacoamigo4254 жыл бұрын
I am assuming they are Hubboards fins, as the Hubbard brothers have developed their own brand of boards, fins and accessories. They look very similar to a Toobs Bluntcut profile and length.
@nmdelninno4 жыл бұрын
@@tacoamigo425 Hey Brant. After some research, I found them. Dubb Zero's. Thanks.

Do you put more weight on your front foot while going backside Jay?
@eBodyboardingcom3 жыл бұрын
Weight shifts from back knee to front foot and back again depending on the steepness and speed of the wave.

I was think about that like the knee side seem like it was for the inside, maybe that don't matter though, never done a successful drop knee, maybe seeing this technique will help and my current fins are extra long, duck feet, i liked my toobs fins the best expcially as they aged and got a bit softer.
@puraavidaa2147 ай бұрын
This technique is questionable… DK riders will say “ both knees must be on the board for the takeoff “

No, if the rider is going "backside", the knee will be on the outside.

no board should have deck crease or bottom crease... that is his throw away board. most likely his kids boards that they just run a muck on.
@JayReale4 жыл бұрын
Well, Dave doesn't have kids. Bodyboards today can have creases and still work great. Stringers and mesh prevent them from "hinging" on creases.
