Best done as part of your morning routine! Dry brush before you shower, and after your workout.
Province Apothecary Dry Brush:
mybrightbody.com/collections/...
If you'd like to use a facial serum/facial oil with your dry brush, you can:
(1) Dry brush on a dry face then add serum after
(2) Put serum on skin then dry brush
(3) Apply a few drops of serum directly to your brush
Check out Bright Body facial oils for different skin types: mybrightbody.com/products/ayu...
To cool the skin after dry brushing, use an alcohol free toner like our Ayurvedic Universal Toning Mist: mybrightbody.com/collections/...
To clean your brush, rub the bristles in dry arrowroot powder or bentonite clay, then tap out until all powder & residue is gone.

Dry brush head from centerline of face outward toward ears with soft brush very gently several times. From ears toward back of neck and downward. From lower jaw down front of neck. Go with grain of hair growth.

I know this is a older video I just came across I’m 52 and just starting my journey to a healthier and better me the natural way without any chemicals would this work for aging crinkling saggy neck? I know the only true fix is surgery but I don’t want to do anything invasive I just want to try to see if that skin can be tightened just a little better..And how do you know if this is actually working for drainage are you supposed to feel anything

@brightbody

Hi there! Yes, it definitely is. Under eye bags are an indication of lymph stagnation, and dry brushing will help get lymph moving.

I would start at the higher part of the face first and finish with the neck last. That way you clear the lymph more effectively
@lalaladyvk
@lalaladyvk Ай бұрын
That's not true you need to clear lymph closest to the nodes first, then move further away so the outer lymph has somewhere to flow, and then once you are the furthest you bring it all back close to the nodes again. Start close to the nodes, even massage them first to get stuff loosened to move.

L Riggs McAngus here’s a link to the set I have. It’s less than $20 and it’s a dry brushing set for your whole body. All that really matters is that you have a natural bristle. Synthetic bristles are going to be the ones that scratch and irritate the skin. www.amazon.com/dp/B07YD7ZS59/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_o5VUEbYDMNVZG

L Riggs McAngus not really. Gua sha is a much better method. Personally, I feel like you need both. I dry brush my whole body twice a week (on the days I wash my hair) and gua sha everyday after my regular shower. There are a lot of helpful videos on KZbin to help you get started. Dry brushing my body + face takes me a max of 10 min (I spend the most time on my face). Gua sha takes about 10 minutes as well. Honestly, they’re small commitments but I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Hi there! Any kind of lymphatic drainage is going to help with overall skin integrity, including firmness. Gua Sha and gemstone rolling (done properly - technique is everything) can be very helpful as well. Something else to look up is connective tissue massage (upward strokes, medium pressure) vs. lymphatic drainage (downward strokes, little to no pressure)!

Is dry brushing risky for acne-prone skin? I’m on edge about getting a brush due to my blemishes!
@brightbody
@brightbody 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Great question. Don't ever go over active pustules with the brush but you can definitely brush AROUND them and lymphatic drainage will prevent, treat, and heal acne.

It depends on what you're going for! There are many ways to do Gua Sha - for lymph drainage, for connective tissue massage - and they each require different techniques. What were you hoping to achieve?

How often should we wash the brush?
@brightbody
@brightbody 3 жыл бұрын
I definitely don't recommend "washing" the brush in the traditional sense - no water and soap. This can can cause moisture to get trapped in the bristles and very quickly degrade the quality of the brush. Instead, dip in something like arrowroot powder or bentonite clay, swish around, and then tap out all the excess!

What about nose?
@brightbody
@brightbody 3 жыл бұрын
We don't ever go directly over the nose because there are no lymph nodes on the nose itself. HOWEVER there are many nodes around the nose along the cheeks. Making sure to properly drain from the middle of the face outwards will do the trick.

Many Dermatologists are not fond of this practice and believe it can do more harm than benefit. Apparently, it causes micro-abrasions and can be irritating for sensitive skin. It also cause more itchy skin over time due to Histamine release from skin trauma. In some cases can cause over production of melanin. This is why considering options is important before doing something potentially damaging.
