I have to press jerseys. I was worried about the dtf print when pressed getting caught thru the holes and sticking to something like the inside of the shirt or the matt. I see yours had holes as well and it didn't do any of that. So I have nothing to worry about?

I think the professional way, as you mentioned, is to use 2 separate graphics. However, you should measure the overlap required and create it in your design software so that you dont have to cut the transfers.
