@electronicsNmore

If preheated for a better flow, you need to heat the mold. Polypropylene medicine bottles cannot tolerate 450F, so I suggest you use a small aluminum bottle.

@@electronicsNmore Thanks. I noticed that you said to preheat the mold, but then it was placed back into the room temp medicine bottle when you poured the metal. We deal with high security locks that have "do not duplicate" on them. One of my co-workers said he could get them copied, you just have to sign some waiver. I always figured you could just cover up the part of the key with silicon, epoxy or even a 3d printed piece of plastic to hide the "do not duplicate" and just make it look like a grip or decoration for the key. if you can get a blank you could also file it yourself. Still cool demo!

@@electronicsNmore That's true, it's illegal to copy a key that isn't your own. However, there are no specific laws stating that DND keys are illegal to copy. It just adds a bit more protection because people think they cant do it. The only circumstances you cant copy a DND key is if its part of a master key system, part of a patented/restricted key control system, or if the key technician suspects wrongful intent.

Would be a much better video if you actually narrated during the process. I don't understand why people think quiet non-verbal instruction videos are better than narrated. You could have explained a lot of what your thinking process was while you were going along (over dubbed the narration after trimming the video). You could have explained some things like... 1) - How did you calculate the amount of liquid latex to use to get the exact fill of your mold? 2) - Have you ever tried using a release (oil or talc) to line the mold to make the latex remove easier so you don't have to destroy the mold to get it out? 3) - What type of metal ingot did you use? etc... Seems especially uncomfortable every time you point to something like we're supposed to be noticing something specific... but no narration to actually explain. There's tons of similar videos out there where the creators actually talk about what their showing. Good luck with your channel. Just something to consider. I personally am turned off by non-verbal instruction videos, so I won't be subscribing.

I guess you haven't watched too many of my videos. 98% of them are extremely well explained. I'm well known for how well my videos are explained and easy to follow. There are countless videos on YT that get MILLIONS of views without speaking, so once in a while I like to take a break and make one. There was no calculation. I measured the amount by eye, and threw away the excess. You don't use oil with the supplies I used. In the video I said I used Tin. Thanks for watching

Yes, they're highly popular on YT, and I think I'm entitled to make one after all the talking I've done on my channel over the years.

LOL! It's a nice video but you call that cheap??? You can probably cut 4 keys with the price you bought the silicone for. Maybe same or similar cost to get the epoxy glue comparing to cutting the the key.

Not even close. LOL. I guess you never tried duplicating high security keys. The supplies are cheap because you can use them many times.

Or jus take it somewhere to have it duplicated,I've simply done that before.No offence,but your way seems like a lot of unnecessary work.Why wouldn't anywhere duplicate?Yep too much $$$ and work your way

I guess you never owned a very expensive high security lock. You just don't walk into any store to have it copied. There's a process, and it's expensive. The last thing I want to do is spend a lot of money on a "hide-a-key".

Wrong. LOL They don't have access to many of the key blanks even if they did want to copy them.

@tracycolorado Lame idea because they do not have any machines to make this type of key nor can they get the blanks.
