To space your shapes evenly around 360 degrees you need to watch at about the 1 minute mark when the registration mark is being created. If you hold the alt key down as you are creating the registration mark the rotate window should open. Type in any angle (eg. 30 degrees to make 12 shapes) and select copy. This will create an extra shape at the correct angle. Then press Control+D to generate the required number of shapes.

Hold the alt key when you change the registration and enter 360/n where n equals the desired number of shapes.

+Devin Chaves Hey thanks Devin :) When I enter 360/10 for example, it just moves the first shape and doesn't create the 10 shape copies spanning 360 degrees - I may be doing something wrong?

You can ALT (Option) Click when you are setting your center point and a dialogue bow will pop up giving you options to set what angle you would like to rotate it. If you do factors of 360 they will be evenly spaced. This will give you a more precise outcome.
@namratakedia12553 жыл бұрын
You can use (R) rotation and press alt at the centre cross hair. Then you can input the exact angle for example (360/10= 36degrees) and it will do the exact placement for you. Hope it helps.

For a better way to create this effect: 1) Create a vertical line or shape, 2) With it selected, Go into Effect > Distort and Transform > Transform... 3) At the Bottom-Left of this window, there is a little box with 9 squares that lets you choose your objects center of gravity. (What your transformations will rotate around) 4)(With the preview box checked) Change the angle you want your shape to rotate 5) Increase the amount of copies for your desired effect 6) Alter the Scale or Move to your preference Voila! :)

Make your rules appear on the edges by pressing Ctrl + R. Make a target position for your rotation point by dragging guides from the rules on both axes (x and y). Select the rotation tool from the tool bar. Zoom in close to where your guides intersect and while holding Alt click on that point. A window will open with the option to set the precise angle of your rotation. You can still use the same Ctrl + D to duplicate the last action.

hey, I know a better way to do that, cuz 360/20=18, so when u copy the second shape and rotate it at 18 degrees, then Com+D for 18 times, finally u can get 20 shapes. U don't need to fix it again and again, just do a math.

Another trick is you can put a guide and center your shape on the guide, then when you use the rotation tool it snaps to the guide which is in the middle of the shape.

hi there. I have a question: when I move the center, to rotate a line, and then I open the "Rotate box", the center is going to the center of the line, and not to the center I want :/ Why??
@ForeverDansky7 жыл бұрын
Hey Ana, it might be that specifying the rotation in the rotate box ignores the fact that you've set a new rotation point. Try setting the new rotation point and then dragging and see if this helps? :)

@ForeverDansky5 жыл бұрын
I don't think you can adjust the center point in Adobe XD just yet. However, you could create two lines, space them apart (for the gap in the middle), and then duplicate both and rotate to form a cross. Then repeat that step at 45 degrees and so on, until you get the same shape 👍
