HOW TO DYE AND MAINTAIN BRIGHT RED HAIR - WITHOUT BLEACH!!

Hey guys! I’ve been asked sooo many times how I dye and maintain my red hair without bleach, so here we go.
What I used: (Everything is from Sally’s Beauty Supply)
•L’Oréal HiColor in Magenta
•Salon Care 20 Volume Developer
•Arctic Fox in Wrath
•Arctic Fox in Electric Paradise
How I maintain:
•Batiste Dry Shampoo- Original
•Overtone Color Conditioner

You can also use whatever dye you have left and mix a bit of conditioner to it and every week or so use it instead of your typical conditioner . Save money on buying the stuff from the store. I go with however much I have left in due and mix about half that in conditioner. Keep it in an air right container and use gloves when you apply it. It save you soooooo much time

I shower once or twice a week in cold water, and it lasted me for at least 7 months!! Then I go and touch it up!!! Also I just use regular shampoo and conditioner too. I use the ogx on my hair and it keeps it nice, soft and shiny with the red! 🥰😍🥰🤩🤩😛🤩😛🤩🤩🤩

I have really dark hair and I have tried the L'Oreal for dark hairs in red and it didn't come out like it was supposed to so I end up having to bleach my hair and then got ions red it came out awesome other than a little damaged but not too bad my question is when my roots grow out should I bleach them again or just try that L'Oreal for dark hair again on the roots?

You should follow the steps in this video. I use Loreal Hi-Color in Magenta mixed with 30 volume developer, leave on for about an hour and rinse. It will dye your hair red with no damage! Good luck :)

My hair is like a golden blond. Should i use just the arctic fox? Also use a sulfate free shampoo. You can get cheap ones at walmart. Loreal has one.

yes the arctic fox should be enough to color golden blonde hair, however, if it want it really bright I would use the Loreal Hicolor.

Hi color is great but don’t keep using it because your hair follicles need to close and with hair high color it is a natural bleaching agent in it and it’s not allowing your follicles to close so you’re pretty much just keep putting bleach on top of your head even know you’re not bleaching it there is bleach in high color and you’re not allowing it to close so you’re have to constantly re-dyed your hair probably every month..,

I have a question I’ve only really used box dye but I haven’t dyed my hair in a while and I waned to try some different dyes out. My hair is naturally platinum blond will I need developer for my hair?? I’ve seen so many people use developer and I just wanted to know what it does exactly?

princess Haley if your hair is naturally platinum blonde you do not need to use developer. Developer is used for dark hair to lighten it and apply the color. All you need to do is apply some Arctic Fox or Manic Panic to your hair if it’s already light 😊

My natural hair is a little lighter then yours like a darkish dirty blonde and my ends are lightened (they're kinda that ugly golden yellow blonde atm). Do you think I should do the hi color and 20 developer all over or would it turn out pink. I didn't want to use just artic fox bc it washes out sooo fast for me.

Yes the Loreal Hi Color with 20 or 30 volume developer should work great!

the Loreal HiColor brings out the bright red. so if you have dark hair you will need to use that on your entire head first. I use the pink/red Arctic Fox colors on my ends because they are already lightened, so I don't need to use the HiColor on my ends to lift it. I just use the HiColor to lift my roots :)

Tina Atkinson so I’m trying to go red too, and I’m on a budget. If I lighten my brown hair to a orange color with Lorial Platinum box, can I then dye it bright red? Do you think it will turn out decent and the red will cover up the uneven lightened parts? Or is this a horrible idea lol.

@@lucystinson3555 The Loreal Hicolor hair dye is made for dark hair so you don't have to pre-lighten your hair at all. However, if your hair is really dark I suggest you use 40 volume developer to mix with the Loreal Hicolor. Your hair will be a really pretty shade of red, but it won't be as bright red as mine (since I've been re-dying mine for 6 years now) but when I dyed it the first time it was a nice red/burgundy shade and it gets brighter each time you dye it.

Developer is not the same as bleaching. Bleach must be used in conjunction with developer in order to activate the bleach. Developer is a different way to lighten your hair without bleach.
