Great video, I've been doing henna/indigo on my locs for many years and my greys are at the front and are very very stubborn, lol. So I have to do the 2 step method.
@JahleeyahKalonji3 жыл бұрын
I will detail my process, I use warm coconut milk and I mix the henna in an iron vessel. The iron vessel makes the henna more dark instead of red/orange. Coconut milk also gives you almost instant dye release (got this gem from a blog years ago, it was a happy accident discovered when experimenting). I add amla to the mix and for moisture aloe vera powder with a little oil. Once the dye releases, I add indigo. I usually mix it first, but I just saw someone add it directly to the henna mix and cover it for 15 minutes, so I'm going to try this method. I leave the mix on for 4-6 hrs depending on the time of day. I rinse until the water is clear, then I rinse again with a dilution of conditioner and water. For the 2nd step, it's indigo mixed with warm water, salt and aloe vera powder. You can actually apply it to your hair without waiting for the dye release because the colour will release on your hair. I leave this on as long as I'm able, sometimes more than 6 hrs (because, I have very stubborn greys) and it also depends on the quality of the indigo. I rinse until the water is clear, I sometimes use exfoliating gloves to ensure all the powder is off my scalp. I learned a lot from hennasooq and also Indian women because they've been doing Ayurveda for centuries. Hope this helps

@@denyshadials5702Please explain further dear?
@denyshadials5702 Жыл бұрын
@@Amatullah.574 In order to get the most benefits from the herbs, the hair needs to washed/clarified of any buildup. Apply the henna, cover and let it sit for however long you’re going to. Then rinse it and do a couple of conditioner applications and rinses as well to get most of the henna out and your hair rinses mostly clear. If you’re concerned about tangles, then I recommend detangling and loose twisting the section prior to washing. You won’t be able to detangle with the henna because it’s going to clump your curls together. You could also detangle afterwards while you’re conditioning, but it’ll be easier to apply the henna to the roots on mostly detangled hair. That may not be important to you if you’re not doing a color touch up. To each their own.

Hi! I did it on the same day in this video and let my hair dry in between applications (my hair actually dries quick lol) I’ve also waited a day or two and it still worked great, yes its a long process but so worth it to me. I probably wouldn’t wait longer than 3 days though 😁
@JahleeyahKalonji3 жыл бұрын
Madeline, you can still use your method, just add the 2nd step of applying indigo. If you have stubborn greys, this method works best. So basically the first step will darken the henna with the indigo and the 2nd step of just indigo will hopefully give you dark black.

Why did you add ACV instead of water? ACVinegar will itch your scalp even more. I add water to henna, it releases the colour well,then I soak it overnight. Next morning I add water to indigo powder, let it soak 30minutes--1hour. Then combine the two, henna mixture + indigo mixture, mix well. Colour. I like the dark hair colour.
