Such great blending. I feel like I really am learning a step that isn't really emphasized with most tutorials. Thank you!!

After all these years of watching YT acrylic tutorials on blending this is the BEST I've seen! Thanks a lot. Your videos/tutorials are a cut above! Just found you...they say when the student is ready the teacher appears! If possible, please give a tutorial on Bokeh effect. Thank you.

wonderful but what if I need to paint on wood that I have been drying for years? I must avoid using watter at all cost. thanks
@GregLowmanArt Жыл бұрын
I've painted on wood before it's np, just prime it first when water is an issue

Man, this helps. ( Instead of blending up/down, side to side, angles, why not blend circlely? Does it matter? ) End result is A beauty.
@GregLowmanArt Жыл бұрын
thanks glad it helps & I usually end up doing it all at some point (up, down, left, right, cirlces, x's) when blending out backgrounds

Can i wash the used brushes?
@GregLowmanArt11 ай бұрын
Yes just rinse them out w/ warm water when you’re done they’ll last for years

What do you mix paints with and what's your consistency? 😊
@GregLowmanArt2 жыл бұрын
I almost always just use water (occasionally add a bit of slow-dri amzn.to/3GhL5gc when working on larger canvases) and get it to a creamy consistency that is a bit thicker than watercolor.

This technique doesn't work with heavyweight paper? Or am I doing something wrong
@GregLowmanArt Жыл бұрын
It's possible but tough because the paper is so absorbent compared to a canvas surface, which makes it hard for the paint to flow. You're going to have to add loads of water and paint + work very fast.
@dezz__ Жыл бұрын
@@GregLowmanArt ty for your reply. Yeah I thought so. I already made up my mind & will buy a canvas & keep the paper for ideas that don't require smooth blends. I hope I'll find a well enough primed canvas as I don't want to go through the process (I've seen recommended) with applying & smoothing gesso.
@GregLowmanArt Жыл бұрын
yeah it will be much easier on a canvas and you do not have to gesso for this technique if you don't want to deal with it - good luck

Hi
@saranevillerogueart9627 Жыл бұрын
Please DONT use jus plain water. But a 60% slow dry and 40% flow improver. Instead. Water WILL DISSOLVE the paint so it will actually lift back off canvas . With succeeding layers
@GregLowmanArt Жыл бұрын
I have never had flaking or lifting in countless paintings over 15 years, even where i've used glazes & washes. You may want to try higher-quality paints such as liquitex, winsor & newton or golden. amzn.to/3UtHgM9 amzn.to/3SNWUkt amzn.to/3SKEMrp
