How to Easily Cut HardiePlank Siding Using an Angle Grinder

I discovered a cheap and easy way to cut hardieplank siding (fiber cement) with an angle grinder and an inexpensive diamond blade. Diamond blade can be purchased at Harbor Freight for $9.99 (without coupon).
Sorry - the wind picked up a bit and was hard to hear after the cut. I was saying it was quick to make the cut and easy to get a straight line. I also did a couple 8 foot long rip cuts and had nice straight cuts. I wore my half face respirator with the P100 filters for those cuts - can't hold my breathe that long!

Is this a continuous diamond blade, serrated, or skip tooth? And what diameter? Thanks

Sorry. Just saw this comment now. It is a 4 1/2" blade. There are no teeth to the blade.

Good video, thanks for posting it. ... I would also include safety information for using an angle grinder. Power tools like that can be very dangerous to use, if not handled properly.

nah thats silicosis that you get from hardiplank, OSHA seems to be okay with using fans to blow the silica from the cut station but yeah if you bought a decent p100 mask I have no idea why you wouldn't wear it. I have installed this shit on several houses and it sucks doing rip cuts without dust collection. always wear eye pro with it as well. also instead of an angle grinder use a hardiblade on a circular saw (with dust collection if possible) because you will have more control on your cuts. alot of guys use those shears for cross cuts especially when its gonna be hidden by trim and caulking but ripping the boards with the shears gives you a nasty edge that looks bad. makita makes a pretty good hardi blade saw, its quite expensive so unless you are a sub doing this daily its not worth it and you are better off with a p100 and some good fans blowing that shit.

Good point. I did set up the fan blowing the dust away from me but I still should have been wearing a mask.
