As a person who has been a disc jockey and a professional musician for 23 plus years (I'm now 75), when I hear others presentations I will recommend to, at times, just sit back and watch your own show; listen to the speed of your speaking and notice if you are speaking so fast that you are running your words together. My favourite font has always been Palatino. I used to do editing for a publisher, and that was the font they used, and I've tended to use it for everything myself ever since. Thank you for this, as I've never published anything myself, but a friend of mine has asked for my help, as he doesn't have time to do it himself.

Thank you for your video. I am currently on a serious number of projects. I am writing 13 textbooks plus 2 screenplays. I am facing the issue of having no time because with the textbooks there are mobile apps in the development PLUS I am working full-time in a totally different branch. As I can say from my experience now - This is a very very easy way to do it. But if you are short on time, or jump between different manuscripts, you have to do all the presets before. Therefore I recommend using a format for both pages and text-bodies. For example its one click for a page break, or just one click to bring the headline in place, with specialties such as a larger first character, or the size of the break between the headline and first text-body. It is terrible to do that after another - And being realistic - 130 Pages is not much. If you are doing that for each page after completion, it is going to consume a lot of time. Plus, if you want to have a cooperate design throughout a book series, there are tiny slips you can make to mess things up. Save time, prepare the document before you work in it. I suggest you look at the commercial use of fonts you recommended, as I would assume you are showing how to format a Kindle ebook, then it will be commercial use. Garamond is owned by Adobe, Arial by Microsoft. If you head to font 1001 and highlight commercial fonts you will have access to hundreds of commercial fonts without the potential of being caught in a copyright battle. PS, the square text you mentioned is called justified, the text which has jagged edges to the right is called range right or ragged right and the same goes to the left. These are printing terms. Hope this helps.

Dane: First time paperback - 300 wds, 6x9 MS WORD BLANK TEMPLATE - What about those “section breaks. Why do I need them if I just CMND -ENTER and make a new page? Nevermind I figured it out! I just go over the title of the chapter and added it as a header in the drop down above the ruler at the tipity top and applied as it as a new header. Then hilited it and copied the link. Then went to same title in the table of contents and hilited that then added a link to it. Hopefully this will work. I tired to add a table of contentss from the Formatting tab but that seemed to be a mess. Not sure if this will work but we will see.

If you’re going to be doing a lot more videos on formatting, you might want to do a little research to figure out what the names of the proofreading symbols are. As a career administrative assistant, those reveal codes as word perfect used to call it are essential to know in order to get your text to do what you want it to do. On word, the paragraph symbol is where all the formatting is stored. So if you delete that enter that makes that paragraph symbol you’re going to change your formatting unless it’s saved in the entire document the same way.

i am not a new author. I already have a few books published by commercial publishers. However, it is not an easy thing to have a manuscript accepted by commercial publishers. I have a recent book being rejected. So I tried to see if I could self-publish it. I tried to use Kindle Direct and found there were templates with which to easily format my book. I downloaded both the blank template and the sample template. I also watched the short video on KDP's website about how to use the templates. It is very easy according to the video. I am sure I will have no difficulty using the template even without the video. What confused me was that the templates I downloaded did not display two pages side by side. It only showed a very wide single page. I hope syou cam give me some directions. Thank you.
