I also use continuous light for some jobs, I think it is a good way to bring light to your scene and easy to use, less is more, you have made me remember a lot and especially not to complicate myself, you do a great job brother

Good tips. Just wondering: you said you used a "very slow" shutter speed of 1/25s. But that's less than one stop below the minimum handheld shutter speed for a 35mm lens. Wouldn't the IBIS of your camera easily handle this? Or is it because portraits demand a higher standard to maintain sharpness

What percent would you suggest as starting point for a static LED light for a shoot like this?

You seem to use Camera Raw a whole bunch rather than Lightroom. Is this because of your own personal preference and workflow or because you think one's better than the other? This goes double with using Camera Raw to adjust skin rather than FS or D/B. Preference or something else?

Joshua Davis I tend to only use light room for batch processing, I like camera raw because of how convenient it is. Frequency separation and dodge and burn are very time consuming and I try to keep the editing time short and sweet

Nice video! But @ f1.4 @ 1/125s @ 35mm! Something is wrong to have motion blur @ 1/125th of a second shooting at 35mm. Camera? lens? I don't know but something is off! If your hands are that shakey, You need a tripod or learn to hold the camera properly with your elbows inward toward your body and your left hand holds the camera, not your right. I prefer to Use off-camera flash mixed with ambient, that would eliminate any motion blur and still give you a natural look! That way the shutter speed becomes the seasoning slower shutter more ambient light of faster less ambient light season to taste!

Great video and beautiful photos as always. But there is something about the photo that I don't understand. The face looks pretty noisy and I would expect a lot more bokeh (for example on the train monitor) at ISO 200 1.4. Why is that?

Mike T. It’s because my subject isn’t very close to my lens, and because at night time you don’t have nice ambient light illuminating the face, so facial angle has a big impact on the quality of the image

The lens angle controls how much depth of field so a wide lens like 35mm with has more depth of field even at f1.4 Then a longer lens like a 50mm or better an 85mm lens! TBH the Noise was very bad at that ISO. I don't pixel peep very often! But something is off, Camera? Settings? Exposure? I'm not sure but there was a lot of ambient light where the photoshoot was and adding a LED light should have been plenty to not be so grainy! I think I would have used an off-camera flash mixed with the ambient to get a natural-looking photo and the flash would have frozen any movement So I could shoot at a slower shutter speed to let in more of the ambient in.
