Is the constant video light is strong enough for outdoor portraits? My goal is not to brighten up the whole scene, just to have a bit of light on the model's face. So which I should buy... a speedlight or LED light?

Do you set WB in camera? I'm thinking of the indoor lights that can be yellowish/greenish and daylight blue.. the mix of them can be hard to fix in post. Do you use color checker/ graycard?

Very nice video there, but there is one thing i don't understand, and that is that you state that 1/250s is a slow shutterspeed. For a 35mm lens you could easily go up to 1/50s without introducing shake, even without IBIS. And with this you can drop your ISO to 160 or at 1/100s to ISO320 at F1.4. And with this you will reduce your noise and gain sharpness. I know that with shooting from the back of the screen increases camerashake, but still I would recon you can shoot at 1/100 without introducing shake as the model also stands still... Other than that, great content :)

Maybe I'm particularly shaky, but lower than 1/160s introduces camera shake and motion blur from the model moving, for me :)

I understand that the higher iso your using leads to more grain but what I don't understand is why you worry about it so much for pictures like these? No one would be zooming in on a picture like these to even notice the little bit of grain in the pictures. I only worry about grain when doing head shots or portraits or maybe a magazine layout for cosmetics.

Nice photos, good inspiration. Thanks. As an electronics engineer, just one remark: Cameras do not have "native" iso. Just as loudspeakers do not have "native" volume, or cars do not have "native" speed. Lower the iso, the better the quality. That's all.

Thanks for your input, in photography we refer to the native iso as the sensitivity of your sensor without any amplification You can go lower than 100 iso on the Sony a7rii but the sensitivity of your sensor isn’t reduced, the image is changed programmatically Speaking as a CS grad 😇

@@BachPhotography It is good that you have a CS degree, then l can recommend you a detalied Stanford lecture on the topic. Here we can see the internal structure of a CMOS image sensor, and we can learn, that there are several, parameterable, analogue and digital amplifiers on the sensor chip itself.
