What kind of groundnuts do we need big or small
@estheruti2 ай бұрын
@@FaithOrlunwo You can use either big or small sizes, but I prefer the variety I used in the video. It’s naturally bigger, which makes it easier to work with and gives a more reliable taste. When you go to the market, ask for “Kampala” groundnuts (peanuts)-that’s the variety I used. It has a two-color appearance, just like in the video. I’ll explain more about it in another video soon!

My groundnut was undercooked. No it was not on high heat
@estherutiАй бұрын
@@Rejocita If you feel the peanut is undercooked because it feels too soft, that’s completely normal right after frying. While the coating becomes crunchy once it’s completely cooled, the peanut inside takes longer to firm up. This happens because heat and air can make the peanuts inside feel soft initially. Just give it a few hours, or better still, wait until the next day-it will be perfect by then. As long as you followed the recipe, there’s nothing to worry about! Let me know how it turns out after some time.😊😊

@@estherutithank you for your reply. I was talking about the groundnut inside it was undercooked, some of it tastes like half done groundnut.
@estherutiАй бұрын
@@Rejocita I’m not sure which method you used to dry the peanuts-whether in an oven or under the sun-but make sure they’re completely cooled before coating. If dried under the sun, bring them inside and let them cool for a few minutes, as the sun’s heat can still affect them. As for frying, since you didn’t use high heat, it might be that your cooker is more intense than mine. My medium heat might be like medium-low on yours. Next time, try lowering the heat slightly but not too low to avoid the coating from soaking oil, medium-low should allow the raw peanuts to cook through. I hope the coating turned out well, though. Let me know how it goes if you try again!
@RejocitaАй бұрын
@@estherutiI think I will use the oven drying method next time. I also thought it was high heat so I reduced it and it also got soaked, that’s how I figured it not the heat. Thank you for the tip.
@estherutiАй бұрын
@@Rejocita I’ve used both methods-sun drying and oven drying-and they turn out the same. If you want to use the oven method, make sure to watch the video again to know exactly what to do and how to go about it. It’s also very important to ensure your oil is hot enough before adding the peanuts. Starting with oil that isn’t hot enough will cause the coated peanuts to soak up oil, and even if you increase the heat later, the damage is already done. On the other hand, if the oil is too hot, the coating can brown too quickly without cooking the inside. That’s why finding the right balance is key. Starting with properly heated oil keeps the temperature stable and prevents soaking. I showed how to test the oil in the video, so feel free to rewatch that part if needed. Try these tips, and if you have any issues, don’t hesitate to reach out!🤗🤗
