I would like to see a color correction tutorial on GoPro hero or insta X2 footage. Most of the color correction tutorials I've seen are on high quality footage in log format. So it would be nice to get a rough workflow on more low quality footage from the average action camera.

Is there a tool/method to quickly auto select a shape in your clip to make a mask? I’m thinking something like the magic wand in photoshop or how the paint bucket fills an entire area that has the same color. This would be for quickly masking black shapes on white background for example, where there are very clear borders. Any sugggestions? I’ve learned so much from your vids btw. Thanks Billy!

Can you make a video showing how we can best optimize for RTX GPUs like the 3060 Ti? Even with the GPU, I still have issues when it comes to tracking call outs in fusion, as well as "GPU memory full" warnings.

Great Video! 👍 Is there a way to make a mask template e.B rectangle evenly larger or smaller? I always have to change each point individually so that the size changes. I often masked license plates and it would be very helpful.

One of my clip has added 3Dkey effect in timeline and when a mask is added by your method, the 3Dkey is gone. I guess it's something related to alpha channel output. Do you know if there is anyway to workaround with it. Maybe I can try if I can add 3Dkey node....

If i want to use moving footage such as your video above. Can i mask & track in the color tab, & then use those mask in fusion so i can add effects such as warping or having the tracked mask danse to music using reactor? Or do i have to do it in fusion completely?

Followed your video and it worked. Unfortunately is also canceled out all the color grading for the rest of the video frame for the whole clip. Not only that, it refuses to allow me to go back and redo the color grade for the whole frame. Al color grading now only affects the masked area. How do I fix this? Thanks

Billy How do we select all the Points of the mask together in color tab to move it. Just Like Completing a Polygon Mask In Fusion Tab & then you can Select all the points together to move the mask in the frame where you wanna see the Change .

Man, this is by far the best Davinci Resolve KZbin Channel! You helped me a lot already! I've just started creating videos .. and in my next video, I have added a simple "Travel Map" that you explained about and used a helpful hint of yours forTracking, where you added a color corector to bring up the contrasts for the tracker to work. hmm I'm trying to do this in combination with also luma keying out portions of the same clip and adding the mask seems to override and negate the luma key. Why? I don't know exactly how alpha output works but it seems like it overrules the luma key effect.

Question: I am very new to Da Vinci. I noticed that the tracking only seems to work one clip at a time. Is there a way to track a subject across multiple clips? I am editing a talking head video that I had to split into several clips to cut out silences. Now I need to track my subject across all those clips where the camera is static, subject is seated and the only thing that moves is the subjects face.

Great tutorial, the only problem I find with this method is that when I try masking footage shot in front of a green screen (green screen already being keyed out) , it brings back the greenscreen for some reason and cant figure out how to make that not occur. Edit: the greenscreen comes back when I connect the alpha output

Hi Billy, I'm a longtime Avid Media Composer user and have only done basic masking in DaVinci Resolve Studio. I've currently got an interviewee in my documentary who is missing a tooth in a short clip. It's too late to call a dentist! I'm trying to figure out how I can hide the missing tooth by masking it and perhaps replacing it with a clone of another tooth. It all seems a bit tricky since it's a very small part of the picture and the gap in the tooth is obscured by the mouth opening and closing as he talks. Any advice to help me out??
