I want to know if he has all 100 topics picked out, or if he's wracking his brain every day for a new one. That's a lot of tips! (Very good series though, I agree.)

How to defend down 12 points of material would be more realistic personally
@petergriffin876727 күн бұрын
You can defend against checkmate via resigning.
@therandomdude1427 күн бұрын
You can get 100 percent accuracy if you play e4 on the first move then resign
@Scmonk27 күн бұрын
Thats so easy. You just have to resign and start a new game and all of a sudden material is balanced again with equal chances for both sides.

i like it when aman starts the board without any pieces at all, then places them one by one. makes it super easier to follow through

I think Bf1 or Bf8 is a natural move that is missed in a lot of positions. After you get your rook out. Especially against lower rated players that could just blunder a piece forgetting that you undeveloped your bishop on a strong diagonal

1:46 What if our rook is there? I mean you could say just move the rook. But wouldn't we waste our tempo then?
@gaopinghu733227 күн бұрын
Why would you want a rook on f8 anyway, though? You can't push the f pawn forward anyway if the knight is there, so you would probably want to move the rook regardless.
@gaopinghu733227 күн бұрын
Another concept is that in closed positions, tempi matter less and progress, even if slow, is always good. Is the example given a closed position? No, but if you ever find yourself in one, keep that in mind.
@billythekid-bestservant127 күн бұрын
@@gaopinghu7332 Yeah i forgot about that as well for some reason. I usually just simply push my f pawn to opened up the position for the rook. That's why I rarely get a situation where the knight jumps into f4 or f5.
@billythekid-bestservant127 күн бұрын

Use your favourite notes app to write out the list and review it for a few minutes once a week. Here's what I have so far to get you started: 1. Nd3 / Nd6 2. g3 vs Ng6 3. allow queen trade by recapturing with king, control c2/c7 with bishop 4. exchange off the same pair of bishops if opponent has the bishop pair 5. exchange french: play Ne2, Nc3, Bf4/g5, Qd2, f3 dominates Nc6 6. f3, g4 vs Carlsbad structure with f5 7. push h4 against fianchetto g6 when e5 controls f6. same with a4 vs no Nc6 8. kick knights from f5 with Bf8, Kh7, Ng8, Qd8/Re6. Watch out for Nxh6+ Qxf6

i'd love a list of what I guess are chess principles like a study card. things like, "doubled pawns suck" " this bishop vs. that bishop is good/bad" "put your pawns on opposite colors of the good bishop" those kind of things on cue cards or just a list would be epic
@lollycopter21 күн бұрын
Start writing your own so you can focus on what matters most to you. Review it for a few minutes every week. It'll be worth the "effort".
