I have the opposite problem that you do with the "c-stick". I can easily input smash attacks and I cannot in any way input tilt attacks in a real fight so I instead use tilt attacks on my "c-stick" :)

I actually dont know how anyone would have trouble inputting a smash attack over a tilt attack. I find if you want to forward tilt, for example, it has a chance to come out as a dash attack. A smash attack being A + stick at the same time just seems infinitely easier than tilting the stick *slightly* and then inputting a command. That's crazy to me people struggle opposite to that lol

personally, i use tilt stick because as lucario you are using tilts waay more than smash attacks and you can do the input when you need to use a smash, because when you can hit a smash attack you usually have a lot of time

Could you maybe do a video on spacing difficult moves or tips on getting reads a little more consistent? For example I can do the RAR input no problem but I almost always over or undershoot if I try it in a match even if it’s a big and easy to hit character Also in your Christmas special vid you had some big roll reads which I’ve tried to bait out of people but I end up getting punished for using a smash attack on top of bad spacing

Well this tutorial makes me try again to use Lucario. I have a Horipad Controller and is just the same to Pro Controller and i prefer Smash Attacks over Tilts, Especially i use more Incineroar. Thank You

Hey! This is a little off topic (sorry!) but since you're talking about controller schemes: I've recently set the ZR button to jump and have been performing short hops with X+ZR after the 2.0 patch because after a month or two of working on traditional short hops I still find them difficult to reliably pull off in the heat of a real match. I wanted to know your opinion on if I should just suck it up and stick with it to learn the traditional short hop way, especially seeing as I can map other inputs to those shoulder buttons. After enough practice does it truly become muscle memory and second nature to hit the button that fast? Also I just subscribed seeing as I've been leeching off all of your Lucario info for awhile now LOL

I neeeeded this!!! Lol but wow I actually use tilt stick and stick jump so this is awkward lol. But this is true to when you said his smash attacks are lethal. I find myself not using his smash attacks as much as I should when I use tilt stick.

I main Zelda with B-stick (c-stick set to special attacks), and when I mess around with Lucario I am too lazy to change the control setup. I never SD anymore (unlike before, when I would sometimes do a weird "spiral" recovery into the abyss), and Side-B obviously now becomes a kind of Smash Stick move. It's probably not optimal, but maybe something to consider for casual players who want more control over Lucario's recovery.

How do you do the move at 5:26 where you jump in one direction and then charge aura sphere while falling in the opposite direction?

thats the B reverse, input Neutral special than the stick the opposite direction you are facing just barely after while midair and ya. It's easy to learn but hard to master it enough to make consistent use of it in intense play.
