As a graphic designer I find this so neat how resourceful you are 😂 also an easy way to select all that black instead of fussing with the magic wand is at the top! Select > Color Range, you can then eyedrop the color you want to select and even adjust how fuzzy you want the selection to be

You put "gRApHIC DEsiGn" in quotations, but you've managed to successfully explain and show what Graphic Design really is from a psychology standpoint. That's really impressive. People in the field generally call it "composition" but it's hard to define much of the time, since it's a case-by-case scenario normally taking experience and "eye for design" to develop the skill.

One little tip in photoshop with the magic selection tool when you have it selecting stuff you don’t want is to lower the "tolerance” value option of the brush (in the top bar after you select it). If it you set it to 0 it won’t select any pixels that aren’t the exact same color as the one you selected and it won’t spill into the other graphics.

Aaah, I feel the “I am not a trained graphic designer so this is just stuff I learned on my own”. Learned InDesign and Illustrator that way and can you believe I worked 3 years as a graphic designer? To be fair, it was mostly desktop publishing rather than anything creative… I learned a lot! Thank you so much for this! It’s just really useful to know how to make nice, satisfying layout that doesn’t look all over the place or too cluttered. Also thanks for the tricks as an ADHD haver, they’re definitely helpful too!

So I've self taught myself how to use photoshop, and I've gotten pretty good (I would like to think haha), and I make some pretty nice images for friends. One of the things that I've had a hard time with is the knowledge of finding stuff to use as assets, so usually I am just reusing assets multiple time or pain stakenly making them myself (I am not an artist so drawing them is pretty much a no). The resources, between the noun project and Pexels is going to be such a game changer. I might make myself stream overlays, but just in general these two sites were pretty much the two things I never knew I needed to bad haha

This is great because part of Graphic Design is about easily being able to commit, hone in on your vision, and finalize the design. You also won't run into "artists block" with all these tools. Google Slides and royalty free libraries are so powerful and efficient, the result can be polished and close to even what a professional could do, albeit with less personalization in the assets. But if you really care about that, you can always get comissioned bits done. The point is, there's so many free templates and assets out there, it's impossible to not have something that at least works, and looks more than good enough. Just have fun with it!

You can actually change the transparency in google slides! 1. go to format options 2. Adjustments and you see transparency
@ying_verse2 жыл бұрын
ah yes! I specifically meant in terms of the export; depending on how you structure things it may not be possible to export with transparency I did realize after this stream that as long as you don't put anything over the BG of the slide, those parts will export transparent! given the way we structure our stream overlays with "cutouts" it might not be applicable though haha
