Thank you soooo much for an amazingly detailed and helpful editing tutorial! I never thought about applying all the processing BEFORE performing the surgical edits. Will change my work flow accordingly. Seeing the settings you use for the various plug-ins plus the master track/bus setup is great info.

I’m happy it’s helpful. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of videos out there that show workflows like this.

This was interesting and helpful to watch - not unlike how I process vocals for a song. Thanks for saying you do individual consulting. I'm not doing a podcast per se, rather I hope to turn my short 5-10 min long inspirational blog posts on Wordpress into audio recordings with a "listen" link. I'll drop you an email soon to arrange a time to call if you're up for that?

Processing vocals will be similar, but things are a little different because you lose the grid and general timing. Instead of having a drummer that sets the rhythm, you have to learn your own internal speech patterns. That is the key to editing dialog. If the pacing is off, it's noticeable, but we can't quite put our finger on why. Thanks to your comment, I realized I didn't have a link to schedule a consulting call in the descriptions. That has since been rectified.

Awesome tutorial, Jess! Although there is something strange with the video, it is not fullscreen; rather, it is in the center, with black bars around it. It's difficult to make out specific details because, in the end, everything looks somewhat distant. 🤔 I guees it's all because of your widescreen (too wide!) monitor.

Thanks. Yeah, the screen recordings are throwing things off. We'll chalk it up to a learning experience and I'll see if I can wrap my head around making it work better in the future.
