Maliek, I follow you and you've being a huge help getting me up and running with Powerdirector. I do have a question in regards to audio. I am currently doing most of my videos with voice-over (I currently own PD15) and I use Audiodirector 7 to edit my clips. The one thing that is very annoying is that I have to edit each voice-over audio clip at a time which turns out very time consuming and redundant. I use the same custom equalizer preset on all voice-over audio clips and I was wondering if there was a way to edit all audio clips at once instead of one by one since all I need is to apply the same custom equalizer audio preset on all clips . Thank you.

I wish there was a way to do that but I'm not aware of one. I have to edit each clip one at a time myself. When you use the same mic in the same room with the same settings it would be great to be able to bulk edit audio clips or copy and paste settings to multiple clips. Unfortunately I have not found a way to do that.

Audio Editor has waaaaay more features than the Wave Editor had. There are other options besides foam, you can try audio blankets or moving blankets.

Thanks for the advice. Applying your audio settings does make videos sound better. Is there a way to apply the same settings to multiple clips, say all the clips on one track, for example? It's too hard to manually go through these steps each time for each clip.

Not using this method. The latest update to PowerDirector 365 has a tool that you can use to adjust the audio for each clip as you add it to the timeline.

We have version 16. We've noted our split channel interviews, are played back on cable [which we don't control] with just one channel audio. Maliek already did an excellent tutorial on converting left or right channel audio to 2-channel mono. You copy/paste each channel to the opposite channel so it's 2-channel mono in Wave Editor. Create 2 .wav files, one left 2-channel mono, one right 2-channel mono, then mix them both together as desired in the main PD timeline.

This shows how. You can open the Audio Mixing room and adjust the volume slider for each track, you can hover over a clip and move the white volume line up or down to just adjust the volume on a single clip.

Thanks for watching my videos. Sorry Mark I don't have a video that provides that type of detail. If you are an audiophile you will get much more control using CyberLink AudioDIrector. It works in tandem with PowerDirector and can be accessed right from the program. It is an additional cost but it might be worth it to you if you are looking to do more with sound. There are also free programs out there like Audacity that you can use.

I usually record with my iPhone (no mike yet). I added voice over using my laptop on a segment that's sandwiched between two segments of audio/video from my iPhone. The quality and volume are different, so I'm trying to make the voice over part match more closely with everything else. But, when I open the audio editor for the voice over segment, I don't see any sound waves at all in the audio editor. (I do see them in the iPhone recorded segments.) Love this tutorial! I wish you'd have went into editing just voice. A lot of my work is with just my voice, and I use Audacity to clean it up, as well as knock out the lows below 100hz. I'm going to goof around with this, and if I can get a good result, it'll save a few steps that I'm doing now with Audacity. I just upgraded to 360, because I really want to keep up to date, and stop having to spend so much constantly upgrading to the newest edition, LOL!

I use timeline mode in all my work, and for some reason after working up my videos in p.d. 17, most of my videos no longer have the panel on the left of the tracks that enables one to check or uncheck the box that would allow a certain soundtrack to be included or silenced in the video. DUDE! A friend put me onto you and he is right! What a resource- thank you for what you are doing! Now... what brought me here. You can do it using PowerDirector. You might find the sound effects in PowerDirector or Shutterstock. All you need to do is find the sound effect somewhere and add it to your timeline where you want the sound to happen

When I exported the video I didn’t have a profile so I used the intelligent SVRT to make one. When the video was done producing I went to watch it and the visual effects rendered but the sounds didn’t, it was like I didn’t mess with the audio at all. Hi! Thanks for your video. Question. when I change the numbers in the dynamic range compression and hit apply - and go back - they are back to the original numbers. I am following along doing as you do exactly. Have done this several times and the numbers are never the same when i go back. I noticed this in your video too. When you went to the middle column, then worked with the bass, and then went back to dynamic range, your numbers in middle column were back as they were originally as well. Is this just how it is? and the audio has been adjusted to those setting when i hit apply? I have PD 365

Hi Maliek, Thank you for your tutorial on audio. So important. I am working with PD 365 and AudioDirector 6. I have a trip on a bus boat in Venise that is cut in multiple clips. How can I apply the same audio effect (boat noise reduction) to all concerned clips. I am not able (well I did not find it) to open multiple clips in audio director. I tried the paste effect on key frame, but that did not seem to work either. Do you have a turnaround ? Rgds

Can’t open multiple clips at once, use Produce Range to produce the section of the timeline that has the audio from the boat. Bring that clip into AudioDirector to make the edits. Bring the clip back into PowerDirector. You can detach the audio in PD if you want.

HoundDogMech If you look up my slideshow creator tutorial it shows how to do it. There is an option called motion which does random ken burns motion effects for each image. You can adjust each motion if you don’t like the random Lu applied defaults.

You can use the audio mixing room, you can place your cursor over the white line on the waveform, hold down your left mouse and move the volume down, you can unlink the audio, go to Tools > Edit Audio > Audio Editor > Select one channel > Dynamic Range > Output Gain, and many other ways. Lots of ways to skin a cat in this program.

*Any clip where I've edited audio(pitch, echo, etc.) is completely void of sound after exporting as an mp4*. I'm exporting to post to KZbin, and I can't make heads or tails as to why it doesn't work. HMMM?? I have a few small segments of original audio on a short video that I want to remove completely. I go into audio editor and highlight the segment (As in cut and pasting) on the time line thinking its a simple matter of hitting a delete button or delete key on my keyboard but I was not able remove segment by either means. Am I missing something here or is this audio editor limited in capabilities that Audacity can easily handle? Thanks for any help offered! BTW ... A song is recorded in a lot more tracks, typically 24, than the average video project. In a song, each audio element, voice(s), instruments, is separate.
