I like how you tested it, proved it works and while testing you kept the fish safe but you realized some were missed later and reported they were mostly ok and could handle it. You’re a fish saint! Great Job!

This was an excellent video and I really liked the idea of jarring some of the worms. Have heard that those meds are shrimp safe from people that keep large amounts of shrimp, so like you said it should be safe.
@AQUANUT

+Aqua Apprentice Thank you. Yeah I'd say it was shrimp safe. I seen one dead shrimp but one out of 40 is not enough of a loss to say it was the meds. My other tank is also treated and I have not seen even one after treatments. I appreciate you watching.

As always bro. BTW, have you considered getting a mic that clips onto your shirt? I have always noticed your voice sounds hollow due to the room or the mic being far away. With a clip-on mic, your sound quality will improve much better IMO.

For Shrimp, use NO PLANARIA, great for Planaria and Hydra, and you can use it at half the recommended dose, which is just as effective. Instead of moving shrimp around to diff tanks etc.

and all fish, its safe for everything but nerites and mystery snails, though when treating a tank that has fish i always add anti bacterials , because if a fish has a parasite and the parasites all die inside the fish it can easily casue an internal infection. i lost a black ghost knife due to that once it sucked

+Kyles Wild World Thanks man I'm so glad I decided to use that jar. Thanks for sharing your experiences too. The manufacturer recommended to remove them, I was just playing it safe. I read many reviews saying it was shrimp safe also before I dosed. I believe that one dead shrimp was a victim of the planaria themselves. If the meds would have killed shrimp, more that 1 would have died I'm sure.. Thanks for watching buddy.

Now what if you remove all the snails from the tank but there are microscopic parasites on the snails? Won't they just repopulate your tank when you add the snails back in? I'm thinking about not only taking the snails out but scrubbing their shells with a toothbrush before throwing them back in after the treatment.

A Trichopodus trichopterus, marble gourami (in a fresh watertank) will also do the job. This fish loves planaria! I don't know if this fish eats the shrimps...

+Peter Langedijk Yeah I heard mollies or guppies eat planaria as well but I am not sure if they would eat my shrimp also lol I would have to do more research on that Peter. I heard a few locals are dealing with the same issue. This may be a great way to keep their populations in check. Worms freak me out so I was ready to nuke the tank and not take chances lol

Hi, I just ordered this stuff for my fish tank. I saw a video of a person who used Panacur C and they essentially did a black out of their tank by covering it with a blanket and said that light renders fenbendazole inactive. Is there no need to black out the tank when we add this? Since Panacur C and this are the same chemical, was wondering what I'll need to do. Pls pls let me know!! Thanks!!
@AQUANUT
@AQUANUT 5 жыл бұрын
It worked for me and I didn't blackout, It is possible though that light does make it inactive over time. It is nothing that I have heard and as you saw in our video it did kill the planaria. Maybe you could get away with fewer treatments with a blackout but honestly, I couldn't tell yeah. Sorry I couldn't be more help

@@AQUANUT just one more thing :) would you happen to know if dog dewormers which have ingredients that are not fenbendazole can kill planaria? The kind that we get here have ingredients like Praziquantel and Febantel in them. We don't get Panacur C and Safe Guard in my country. I'm getting fish bendazole shipped from outside and it's very expensive to do so :) was wondering I could get away with using an over the counter dewormer next time without paying an arm and a leg next time.

Hi, sorry if this question has already been asked. Thanks for this video btw. I noticed you said remove any carbon prior to treating the tank for planaria but my filtration cartridges have carbon in them.. is it safe to remove them completely when using this product?? For 3 days?? It's got all the good bacteria and stuff in so I am just wondering if removing them will disrupt the perfect nitrogen cycle I currently have.
@AQUANUT
@AQUANUT 4 жыл бұрын
Oh I am sorry Kayla I do hope you were able to get an answer for this question from somewhere. I have multiple KZbin channels and i get swamped with questions. If you are using filter pads with carbon that is not going t6o work or at least very well as the carbon will remove the medication from the water. I would suggest getting a sponge that goes over in intake pipe of your filter. That will do a few things for you. It will make your filters last longer and in the case you have to medicate you would be able to pull those filters without worrying about loss of bb What you could do in the meantime is put a slit in the top your filter pad and remove as much carbon from the sleeve as you can.

based on my experience this medicine can damage fish gills and allow them to die eventually when it is dissolved in water. However, medicine is highly effective when it is given with sechem focus in fish food.
