Hi AJ--great job with the videos! I was wondering if you could share a few details about hanging the fan. Did you use a fan box inside of the cover, or did you just put a bracket straight across and use longer screws to get through the insulation? Thanks!
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, thanks for the comment. We appreciate it. Putting a box, and making sure the wires are secured at the fan junction is a proper way. The hard part is making sure the fan beam channel stays intact. The easier way is drilling a screw through the fan beam, you just need to spend special care not to go right through your electrical wires, and secure the wires near your fan junction. That being said, always use a licensed electrician, for all electrical work. Hope this helps, feel free to email us if you have any other questions and have a great day Mike, AJ Everydaypatio@gmail.com

Great video. Can you explain how you might install a retractable TV ceiling mount on the cover itself? I have to think it would require a steel plate be placed on the back side and bolts going through the cover with silicone to seal everything. Thanks for any comment.
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 2 жыл бұрын
Hey PK, great question. You pretty much answer it exactly how I would do it, or order a couple extra fan beams and just attach to those directly. It doesn't have to be a steel plate with through bolts on the roof, you can also use 1 large piece of extruded aluminum that comes with the patio cover, or 2 smaller pieces with thorough bolts. Thanks for reaching out and we hope you have a great rest of your day, Everyday Patio

Hey! great job. I was wondering how you run the electrical wiring through the panels with the foam on the way. can you explain please. thanks
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 2 жыл бұрын
Hello and Good Day Ariel! For all the electrical on our patio covers, we order electrical channels inside of the insulated panels, prior to installation. It costs extra to have them embedded, but it is a much better option, than have electrical pipes and conduit ran on top of the patio cover, which are prone to leaking into the electrical. Long term electrical integrity is easy to maintain with these electrical channels in place. Thank you for the great question and have a good rest of your day, Everyday Patio

Great Video Thanks! Do you have concrete anchors under the pavers for the posts? You ran wire from an existing outlet inside house through that hole on the same breaker?
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Travis, thanks for the comment! That is actually a really thin veneer concrete/plastic stamp, they did to the previous concrete pool foundation. Overall a pretty good base, compared to pavers. And yea I ran the electrical line from an existing outlet upstairs in this video, I believe. Very rarely is a a patio cover pulling enough power to warrant a new breaker, but it also depends on what the condition of the electrical is by the patio cover. Hope this helps, and that you have a great rest of your day, Everyday Patio

I have a 26' long pan roof being installed. One side is secured to the covered lanai via supergutter and the other side with a post through a concrete footer. The backside is secured to the house. The middle post is secured to the pavers only. Is the middle post required to have a concrete footer?
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 3 жыл бұрын
Securing to pavers alone is not structurally allowed. You must have a proper footing. Especially on large spans. Thanks for the comment and hope this helps, The Everyday Patio Team Everydaypatio@gmail.com

Beautiful. We just had a cover similar to this installed. However, noticing an expansion/pop sound from the ceiling where it attaches to house on one end. Do these insulated covers expand? It’s very strange…
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 2 жыл бұрын
Good Morning Penny, thanks for the kind words. I personally have not heard any of our insulated patio covers pop, but I have heard about this issue from other manufacturers. It could be alot of different things, a improper laminated panel, lack of caulking between the seams, the wrong caulking used on the seams, or improper installation. Solving the problem would involve a close look at the entire patio build and whatever materials/installation methods were used. That's a large part of why we made the Insulated How To videos, to help avoid having issues like this, Hope this helps and your contractor is able to solve your issue, Thank you for your time and I hope you have a good rest of your day, Everyday Patio

Hey Kevin, you run your electrical into the hanging channel of the patio cover. From there you run the electrical into each of the fan beams of the insulated panels. You have to order your insulated patio cover with fan beams, before installation. Thanks, Everyday Patio

Can you share the specs of the lights you installed? I’m have an insulated panel roof installed and it’s been a task to get info on recessed lights being installed. Also curious on the fan install; how do you avoid the wiring with the screws going into the beam?
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio Жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, we used to use J-box Halo LED lights, basically surface mounted LEDs. We're usually using Halo 4 inch recessed lights now, if you are replacing them, just use the surfaced mounted ones, much quicker and easier to install. I just personally prefer the new 4 inch recessed ones. For the fans, usually we push the wire to the side while putting in the lag to support the fan, into the fan beam. Very rarely do we hit the wires, so it's normally a non-issue. Some installers drill out the wires and holes on the floor, if they think they might hit the electrical line. Great question, thanks for asking Mike. Hope you have a great New Year! AJ

Can you say patio covers be installed directly to the facia board? My patio has facia board on two sides that the cover would need to be installed to
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 2 жыл бұрын
Good Day Farhat! Yes you can install to Fascia Boards, you need to be a minimum of 2 inches below the drip edge. To waterproof properly. Also your Fascia Board should not be rotted, leaking or be anything less than 2 by 6 wood. Fascia board installs are tricky and need alot of care to be done properly. Often I'll just replace the whole Fascia Board before install, to prevent leaks. Hope this helps, Best Regards, Everyday Patio

What screws did you use for the fan?
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Shay, the type of screws depends on your manufacturer, if your using Four Seasons, we typically use 2 - 2 1/2 inch 3/8 self tapping hex drive screws, on either side of the fan bracket, into the fan beam. There are other ways, but this way is best for a full water tight seal. Thanks for the great question, and have a great rest of your day, Everyday Patio
