that's also a great way to do it with fabric pieces, I'm interested in experimenting with that as well or a combo with embroidery maybe even a pearl or bead here or there ;)

That was the Best Tutorial Ever! But how do you secure the threads/thread behind the Linen? I mean, there must be a knot or something like that, that the thread doesn't open again, especially, when you switch the color of the thread. Do you know what i mean? Also, when i start, didn't i have to make a knot too? Or do i just start and come with the needle and the thread on it and just start, without making a "secure knot" on the back when i start? And how do i end this? No knot? Do i just cut the thread when i'm finished the piece?

I'm just starting embroidery and this is very helpful thank youuu🙏 btw I was wondering, I'm planning to make eyes for my amigurumi, once they're done, is it better to glue them or sew them to the head, if I may ask? Or is it better to embroider the head directly instead of making patches?
@tedDIYbear
@tedDIYbear 2 жыл бұрын
Hi!😊I'll say that if you are comfortable with embroidering (or if you're not, but you just want to make a simple shape, like black round eyes), then embroider the head directly, it would be quicker and they'll stay nicely in place. However, if you're not sure on how it may turn out, where to place the eyes, or if you want to use a stabilizer to help you embroider a difficult pattern, then making patches is a great option. I'd not recommend using glue alone, it's not secure enough, especially if you plan to wash your amigurumi in the future. It's always better to sew, you can also use glue + sew to make it extra secure, but it's optional😄

@@tedDIYbear thank youuuu I've been wondering around about it these past couple days. I'm a total newbie when it comes to embroidering, I'm yet to have the confidence to sew good eyes directly to the head but I was informed that it's better to do so (my grandma said so too, that it's fine if I fail I'd just have to make a new one which I'd have to crochet another head and it'd take a looong time, I'm also really lazy). I'll take your advice and start with patches first until I get a hang of it. Once again thank youuu

Thank you! I'm not sure if I just missed it in the video, how many strands of the embroidery floss do you use? It looks like less than the full 6. But I can't tell if it's just 1 or 2.

If I am using a pattern for a plushie, would it be possible, before i sew the two head peices together to embroider they eyes straight onto the fabric of choice for the plushoe instead of using separate fabric?

If I was to draw my one eye designs would I be able to use the same method. I make alot of amigurumi dragons and want to embroider eyes on some of them instead of using safety eyes(not safe for small children) I have done some on a different dragon embroidering the eye right onto the head but it's more difficult to get the right shapes I need epically on a black dragon they turned out good for what I was going for but would like to learn how to do eyes on patches that I could sew onto my stuffed animals

Hello! This is such a lovely tutorial! I'm planning on trying it out soon but I do have a question. If I plan on doing it on a separate cloth instead of directly on the plushie, what cloth do you find works the best? I know you said any fabric of choice, but I was wondering what your go to was? Again, thank you for this tutorial, it's such a life saver! (Embroidery machines are expensive!)

Hello! I'm glad you enjoyed my video 😊 I like to embroider on natural fabrics with a tight weave, linen is my favourite. To secure the ends of the threads, I tuck them under the embroidery stitches that I have made on the back. Ha! I wish I could find an embroidery machine that isn't so expensive, I like to embroider by hand, but it's very slow haha.

Hi!! I have a question, when you embroidered the first eye, did you use regular sewing thread? Because embroidery floss is much thicker, and it’s harder to do smaller details like that! :0 Also this is a lovely tutorial thank you for sharing and making our sewing/embroidery journey much easier ❤️❤️
@nunyabusiness8307
@nunyabusiness8307 11 ай бұрын
From my own experience, embroidery threads are actually 6 threads wound together. If you need to do smaller details, you can just split those six threads apart and then only use a couple of them. Hope this helps!

Hello, usually the side you embroider on will look better than the other side. I know that there is an embroidery stitch called "double running stitch" (also known as Holbein stitch), that is identical on both sides. I have never tried it though.
