Thank you! I’ve been sewing stuffed animals for my girlfriend recently, and I’m always lost at the mouth; I’ve watched this video three or four times, because I keep needing to come back to it! Thank you for the incredibly helpful tutorial!

Thank you so much for making this video! I sew heirloom mohair bears, and embroidering the mouth is always a nightmare of tangled floss. I will definitely try the second needle tip! Do you ever embroider noses on plush? I would love to see a video on that! :)

You're so welcome! I've done embroidered noses on bears, and my lion cub pattern as well. The technique is similar, just keep packing stuffing into the nose after every few stitches. teddy-talk has guides on it too :)

I bought your pattern for making small animals like guinea pigs and hamsters. I made a guinea pig and am having trouble doing the nose and mouth. I've redone it so many times. The embroidery thread is getting lost in the long fur I used to make the guinea pig.

Hi crystalheart! Hand embroidery takes practice. If you are using long fur, you will need to shave it. A thicker floss will help, or double the floss. Don't pull the floss too tight so that it wrinkles the fabric a lot. I recommend drawing the stitch on the location first, and use a chopstick on the inside to keep firmly stuffing the embroidery area as you stitch it.

If you don't want to shave the fur, you can hand-sew applique a piece of felt or fabric that matches the same color as the head. Any thread will get lost in long fur

thank you for this video it really helps me with my toy making :) .. you were lucky to finish off the stitch in the black eye area. With my toy animals there is no place to hide the finish. Sewing eye and nose. Any tips on how to finish these off without being visable? I've done it at the back of the head but it's pulling the head in. thank you!

I'm currently trying to get into plush making, and this video was so helpful. Though i'd like some advice, which fabrics are best to use when making a plush?

Hey Remi! Know that is a little late, but for starter - Fleece is perfect. It is a very forgiving material and easily to use.

I poked my self and it bleeded badly so I use a finger gard or something and never poked my self again 😃
