I just got a pattern for Godey doll dresses, I believe. It's an older pattern with instructions for a 12-inch doll and a full wardrobe. Im so excited to try and embroider the dollie's face instead of using felt. Thank you so much for this tutorial!

OhOHOh your offerings are such a sweetly detailed refresher from the days of old when my Beloved Gram taught the 6yr old me! … Like riding a bike, eh! I’m working on Gifties for great-Nieces. And felt a bit stuck really w/regard to their Baby’s faces. So ThankYouTHANKYOUThankYou dearly! 🤍🤍🤍💨

Oh hey, this is actually pretty helpful! I was using double-theaded stitches, not triple! That explains why my embroidery was so weak. Won't be needing to rely on felt quite so much now. Thanks for providing this tutorial!

So helpful! I love that you have a guide for the specific stitches do when working on embroidery, you can jump ahead to the part you need. Can wait to use especially the padded satin stitch on my dollies!

Do you have a video tutorial on how to embroider eyes onto a stuffed dolly face? Thank you for sharing so much knowledge:)
@DollsAndDaydreams Жыл бұрын
Alas no. However if you sink your knot through the back of the head and embroider the eyes using the padded satin stitch. Once finished with the eye again sink the knot through to the back and cut the tail you'll be golden 😘✂️🧵 hope that helps! Happy sewing 🥰

Do you have a tutorial on embroidering a mouth on a stuffie that has already been stuffed?
@DollsAndDaydreams2 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid I don't. However if you sink a knot from the back of the head and come out the side of the mouth it won't be visible from the front. Then when you finish off, again pull your threads through to the back of the doll and sink a knot. Hope this helps!

The instructions are great, the only problem I can see is that the written words are just on top of the stitches you are making. It’s very hard to see what your doing. Sorry!

I just watched this prior to stitching on a fleece plush toy. In the past, I had just winged it in embroidering a mouth. I did not understand why sometimes they turned out and others did not. Your description of the variations was helpful. I chose to use the stem stitch, although it turned out fine, was not as nice as yours. In watching the video afterward, I see what I did differently than you and wanted to share here so others do not make my same error. In moving the thread down below the line, I held it taught. I can see yours is just held below, but not pulled tightly. Holding it tightly made it disappear into the fleece too much and is harder to see. I will not tear it out and start over, as it is cute enough....but for next time, I will know what to do to make it even better. Thanks again for your tutorial!

what do you do with the knot? or you do not knot your yarn for eye's.
