I'm coming to War Thunder from DCS and IL2.. The 109 is badass. Awesome fire power, awesome performance. Easy to fly, even in full simulator (DCS amd IL2) It's by far my favorite WW2 plane. Only the WT community could ever say it's a bad plane. Too bad I started with the US tree. Gonna unlock jets there before I go down the German tree.

I don't think this was a good guide. I would've liked clearer examples and corresponding footage. Not whole clips while talking over them. I also don't think "know your plane" is the answer for everything. People that look up guide don't really know their planes. How can I find out how well my plane is at energy fighting? The Wiki pages are often not that specific. And if knowing the energy state of the enemy is that important then I should learn how I can judge that, correct? I would've liked at least some examples of how to energy fight with your commentary what you were thinking in that moment for example. "Energy trap them" sadly doesn't help me and the clip that played for that wasn't really helping with your teammate interfering and killing your enemy and your fancy spin out trick that's way too hard for anyone that still needs to learn stuff about energy fighting. :D

Fair criticism, but I think you missed some important points. First, I can’t tell you what maneuvers to pull and when to pull them. It simply won’t work- too many situations, too many planes. Knowing your plane is the answer for this- the “answer for everything”. As far as how to figure out your plane, stat card, test flights, research online. I tried to teach u how to judge enemy energy states (“high and fast = high energy, low and slow = low energy”), but again, you might have missed where I said there’s no other way to learn/be proficient at this besides practice. I can’t tell you “oh this guy has high energy” for every situation. There’s also no “fancy spin out trick” lol that’s called a flat spin and I have no idea how to do a controlled one. My teammate helping me? Bruh lol. Not everything in warthunder has to be perfect. I’m trying to win, not make it flashy: if I can lure an enemy vertical to bait him for my team, I will. If you’d like to see more clips with analysis commentary, I’d be happy to make another video. The point of this video was to explain the basics so that you may go an learn them for yourself, as necessary with most things in warthunder. Ty for watching!

​@@nimbosoup I know that you can't show everything, I just wished for _some_. Maybe one for a plane with great vertical and one for a plane with weak vertical. Sadly all KZbinrs say "I can't show you" and therefore you never really see anything. I don't blame you for this one, you have to keep the video short for the algorithm, but still. :D Regarding the stat cards and test flights: that's what I mean, what do I have to look out for? Yes I can take it to a test flight but then what? It's not like the AI will perfectly energy fight me and IMHO just flying around has missing context. I know "what energy is" :D and I try to stay above and faster and it usually works but as soon as I get on the same level I often lose and it's hard to know why. I'm sorry, it looked like that fancy spin from your other videos, but now looking back at it it's just a flat spin that looked better than mine. I usually just end up completely stopped and more falling than gliding back. My bad, it was late for me. And I'm not blaming you for using your teammates, it is a team game after all. But I was just saying that it's easy to talk about energy traps, if you're lucky enough to have teammates. Sadly that doesn't happen often (in my matches (in GRB)). You just said at that moment "turn your plane back over at their 6 and shoot away" and that's what I meant with relevant clips. ^^ I still appreciate your video guides, the other ones really helped, just this one didn't click for me I guess.

@@TheRealMinipom I understand your point, but every situation is different! If I show you one or two things, and you try to apply it to every situation, it isn't going to work well. I tried my best to give you the principles behind it so that you can figure out for yourself what to do, instead of just remembering what I told you to do, that may or may not apply to the situation you're in. And no worries, I understand being sleep deprived lmao. Also, fair enough, man! Not everything is going to click with everyone. It's also a complicated topic and is extremely possible I didn't explain it well. If you're looking for examples, like I said in the video, checkout the other video about energy fighting I uploaded (7 minutes of energy fights). It doesn't have the thoughtful analysis you search for, instead, it has some NPC music you should probably just mute, but perhaps it'll be good to learn visually/through example. I appreciate you appreciating (most of) my content, and hopefully, future videos do click with you :)

Turn fighters are actually better energy fighters. A zero that is going fast and a 109 going fast merging is a quick kill for the zero. If the zero is in a higher state he can prop hang the 109 all day and get on his tail so fast the 109 flaps wont even deploy yet. 😂😂😂😂

That is just simply not true- energy fighters are better energy fighters (assuming the pilot knows what they're doing). Two things- first, a "zero going fast": they would need to be diving to do so, and even then, rip speed is significantly lower than a 109. A 109 can easily point their nose down and gain separation all day, then convert into having more energy later. Any somewhat smart 109 pilot will not take a dogfight with a zero on equal or more energy. Second, if both planes are going the same speed going into a merge, the zero would have to do a 180 to get on the tail of the 109, losing significant energy/speed in the process. Again, any smart 109 pilot is not going to take a fight with a zero on equal energy. You're right, a zero can prophang a 109 on equal energy all day every day, but a smart 109 pilot will not put themselves in that position in the first place! Ty for commenting & watching!
