We did. It was great to spend time with the family and dig into a feast. I made the mistake of eating half a pie before bed last night haha.

That deck worth the engine swap . Just need a bag for it. but it runs good. Good work alex

Thanks John. Yea I wanted to save the self propelled unit if I could. Hopefully come across a bag before it goes up for sale. Usually ads about an extra $25 to the sale in this area.

Nice engine swap Alex. Ive had to do a few of those. I try to touch up the paint on the decks but its hard to find a color match for the poulans and some craftsman. What I've been doing is scuffing the sides and tape them off and spraying them with Rustoleum bed liner spray. It looks great and is very durable. 👍🇺🇸Roger

Great tip. Thank you. Yea I was going to try some rustoleum gloss black on the peeling or rust spots to try and touch it up. I greatly appreciate the support and tips!!!

I fixed a Briggs Max series engine but alas the sump is damage so oil seal isn't sealing...so I threw on a 5 up Quantum on....working great on a 87 Snapper. No self propel though

The engine out put shaft is to clean up take some fine grade sand paper plus some wd specialist silicone spray clean,s the shaft up put a little bit of anti size on so next time you have no problem with this matter next time you go to take the blade adapter off I do this.on the poulan xt mower I hd replace the tire wheel,son it used a harmonic balancer puller to remove the wheel off the axel on the trammsion
@freedommowers4203 жыл бұрын
Yes that crankshaft was pretty rusted on there. I really need to pick up a can of anti seize. I know that would help a lot with any future issues with that blade adapter coming off. Thank you as always for stopping by.

didn't know you could just swap out a non-propelled motor onto self-propelled one. i may have to do this soon. i guess it's best if you can match the HP of the original engine so you know it'll have enough torque to drive the wheels.
@berettaguy74456 ай бұрын
I'd like to swap the Briggs engine on a Toro FWD 21442 mower with a Honda GCV160 from a non self-propelled Troybilt mower. Is this doable? Never done this stuff before...thank you.

I'm in the process of taking a free craftsman electric start self propelled blown engine off and putting a new engine on it from a $20 push mower so gotta take self propelled and electric off and put on donor motor they are both 7.25 platinum engines. Then I'll have a nice mower to sell.what should I ask for it?
@freedommowers4208 ай бұрын
You should be able to keep the self propelled working if it’s the same engine. Just use the pulley that came on the original. I would say maybe $100-150
